I don't know what it is- but she bought me- and actually watched me play through- 185% or so of Castlevania SOTN last week. Just watched. I played all fucking weekend and she watched and acted (or was) actually entertained by it.

We will see if the same holds true for a similarly spectacular- though far less visually stimulating- PSX classic FFT

I can't remember- but I don't think there's any kind of Vs. mode in FFT- right?

Yea, considering the amount of metroid-style backtracking in that game. And then you get to the second half of the game, and it's pretty much....wait for it....wait for it...an upside down version of the first half!
Not ragging on the game, I love it myself...but for a woman to sit through...? Yikes.
My wife would never stand for that. In fact, she -didn't- stand for it, back when I was playing SOTN. She would watch about a minute before she got bored and left.

no, i dont recall a vs mode in fft but there is one in tactics ogre which i thought was a better game anyway. actually they prolly the same to me. :kekeke:

I have over 200%... I think it's the PS version but it could be Saturn (I have both). I also have that Muramasa thing (the sword that absorbs blood) up to a ridiculous level where it can kill any enemy in either one or two hits, even those knights that guard the clock before Dracula. I think I'm remembering this shit right... I haven't played that shit in a long, long time. One of the best games of all time.

In order to get over %200, you have to leave the tower and explore the area outside of the tower walls.


No VS. mode in tactics btw.

FFT is a fucking awesome game, but it's too ... 1 player, and long. Better to just download the OST and play the CDs for her.

Man, I had the same problem. I finally got the 200+% last summer. I had to resort to a gamefaqs.com map, but I finally did it.

UPDATE:

She couldn't get through 2 battles. Now that I am playing again I remember how tedious and slow your progress can be. Not that I don't eat it up. So I just hooked her on some serial killer novels I have, and she just read them while I played. We're in a studio right now so you have to coexist without separate rooms. So it's either us in front of the tv or us split between the tv and pc.

She said it was the beauty of the design but especially the music in SOTN that she liked. She Dl'd the soundtrack on kazaa too. Go figure.

And yes Dash, you're right. She/he's a transvestite. My haircut, being so phenominally bad, keeps me to the transgendered community pretty much exclusively. I have a real hard time with actual women being as ugly as I am- and I don't know how to talk to them either. I am extremely uncharming and witless. I feel so powerless around women- especially nubile ones, ten years my junior- and have no physical or psychological tools with which to woo them. Life is hard.

I want Final Fantasy Tactics too. I beat the game once...but I need my own copy. The original not the bestest rerelease or whatever they call it.
