That's actually pretty cool, even though I don't understand the whole poker fad going on right now. I'm not saying you can't play and enjoy poker, but it seems like all the sudden everyone on the fucking planet was Maverick.

It's actually kind of a good thing for the experienced player. I've been playing for over 10 years now. It paid for a *lot* of things in college, my honeymoon, my wedding bands... and even part of the down payment on my house.

It brings new blood and money into the scene. The movie Rounders did a lot for the poker rooms in AC, but this explosion with it being on TV was 100x bigger.

It's been good to me over the years and yes, after all of that it's quite fucking annoying when you have amateurs and suckers sucking up all the air in a room like they do sometimes.

This fad will pass after the fools rush in and get sliced up.

I used to be able to go to the Taj and play a 2-4 low limit game and there would MAYBE be 6 players at a table.

....now.... it's a 3-4 hour wait.

It's a double edged sword. There's a fortune in money to be made, but you have to elbow out a lot of other people to do it.

Thanks.. I never used to play large tourneys, but just started last week. I'm usually a cash game player and occasionally a sit and go tourney player. I took a bit of a bad streak last week... (running badly...) and decided for the hell of it to start playing large format tourneys because I was told there were a LOT of fish to be caught in them.

I cleared about $800 last week with little effort from it... I'd say maybe 5 or 6 hours...

Heh, horrible luck and a distaste for card games ensures that I will never be down with this fad.

Judging from the thread title, I figured this would be discussing how long it takes Jedah Doma's rectum to cool off before it's safe enough to remove the Scott Stapp Barbie from said orifice.

My bad.
