I've recentlety perchased a neo geo from ebay(I dont have it yet), but am unsure on what I'll need to use the machine in the UK. I have a 2 pin socket transformer/adaptor to convert the power that I use for my US saturn, but the power adaptors for the AES dont seem to be the standard 2 pin plugs from the pictures I've seen. So what am I going to need to use it in the UK? Or are they 2 pin plugs?

The AES power supply from the US or Japan has the standard 2 pin plug so your step down converter that you use for your Saturn should work fine as long it steps down from 240v to 110v or thereabouts.

I had problems with my power supply when I first got my AES so if you've got any more problems have a search for my old threads first and they may answer your questions.

Are the english ac leads sold here, standard american 2 pin plugs? The one that's coming with my neo geo doesn't even look like it would fit in a socket. You can see the pins, but they don't look long enough.

Where are the 2 pins on these? On the back?

that first one doesn't look like any official neo geo adapter I've seen before. In the other pic the pins are on the other side. Why not just wait til it arrives and see if the adapter you have fits?

I'm gona have to. I'm just eager to play plAY PLAY. Are the power leads multi regional? I.e, if I bought an english one from here, will it work on any region machine? And back to my other question, are these "english" ones american, or european?

The power leads are multi-regional but not every power adapter will work on every console. It says which power supply to use on the bottom of the console. A PRO POW 3 or PRO POW E console will require a 9v power supply. These are the newer systems. The older systems, PRO POW or PRO POW 2 require a 5v power supply. Also you can't just use any power supply with the correct rating that you find because the the neo uses the opposite plug polarity (positive external, negative internal) to most power supplies.

Not sure which 'english' ones you mean. You can get special aes power supplies from companies such as raven games in london that will plug straight into uk mains.

If your aes already has a power supply then the chances are it will have a standard 2 pin plug and will fit fine into your stepdown converter.

Demon Dash,

The PSU that will be included will work just fine on your AES/Voltage converter. The 2 pins (that plug into your wall socket) flip down perpendicular to the case when in use. The picture you posted has them flipped in.

Have no worries, you will not need to buy anything additional in order to play your system :)

BTW, the second AC adaptor shown (the NeoStore's foil label) is not made by SNK. These are re-badged Phihong AC adaptors.

Hope this helps!

There you go Demon Dash, you just needed an American to give you the lowdown on US PSU's.

Those pins won't plug into his wall socket, he lives in the UK!
