well, i don't know of any sites but i guess i'll fill you in on what i remember of the series[which isn't much and probably won't even be worth reading anyway but what the hey, why not].

the first Silent Hill had to do with some cult kidnapping/sacrificing children & trying to ressurect the devil?[never actually played the 1st one, just heard about it before]

the 2nd Silent Hill you played as this guy who received a letter from his believed to be dead wife saying that she's waiting for him in their special place[which is somewhere in Silent Hill] so he goes there looking for her and encountering all these "monsters" and in the end encounters some sort of demon-nurse that was hoping he'd be happy with her but ofcourse things don't go her way as he wants his actual wife and you fight her and ofcourse there's the 5 different endings depending on how you've played through the game.

the 3rd Silent Hill you played as this girl who was the child that was either to be sacrificed or the devil's spirit resurrected into her body... and she's grown up now with one of the ex cult members causing trouble and unleashing demons to go after you.

and ofcourse you're on 4 now so....

:p :annoyed: :oh_no: :kekeke:

There's THIS PLACE which has some stuff. Maybe what you're looking for, or links to others. Last time I looked at it, it wasn't finished, but they may have more content now.

I think these sites are good:

Ushinawareta Kioku (Lost Memories): Silent Hill Chronicle (mostly text)

Translated Memories (full-page scans, etc.)

They're translations of the official Jpn. guidebook/webpages released about
the series, and have various details you can read.

I like the second site more because it also translated SH4's "Victim Files"
and "Another Crimson Tome" -- both featured on the Konami site.

I played only SH1 and it took me like a storm. A friend of mine lent his copy by a late afternoon, I tested it before diner and played it several hours straight. An other friend came and stayed two hours just to watch since the action and the atmosphere were so breathtaking. I gave the game back few days after (I finished it with a poor ending) and I promised myself that I'll play the serie again. I will one day.

Can some Silent Hill 2 expert please settle something for me. It's been bothering me since I saw it in the game.

" There was a HOLE here. It's gone now. "

Wtf? What does it mean, why is it there? And why is HOLE all caps? AAAH!

I can either tell you now, or let you discover it for yourself. I'm always happy to answer Silent Hill Questions!

Which do you dig most?

Ok, Verbatum, tell me where in the game I find out what it means? No spoilers! I already beat the game once and I guess I just missed it.

Verb, I guess the real reason I made this post was to ask a question.

How the HELL do you get passed the water prison stage? I understand that you line up the bloody beds in order see the keypad and all...but damn...

I've taken a break from this game while trying to figure out MGS3, and now its time to go back to it. I love both games, but i would also love to finish both games.

in a word,

"HELP"

From Dan Birlew's plot interp:

Q: At Neely's Bar, what does the first graphiti on the wall mean?

A: "There was a HOLE here, but it's gone now." I didn't ask what this
meant. My interpretation is that someone else has noticed the shifting
realities in Silent Hill. For some other guilty traveler in town, the
alternate version of the bar has a pit in the room. So when James comes
back later and the whole town is pitch black, the player has the idea
to return to the bar to see if a hole has appeared. But instead, there
is a new and very threatening graphiti on the other wall. It's a way of
getting the player to search the Bar a second time to see if something
new has appeared. I think it might also refer to the kind of holes that
James encounters later. Each time he jumps into a pit, James is trans-
ported to some other reality or some other location. In this interp, the
graphiti is forshadowing the reality-bending nature of the holes in the
game.

This sounds fairly good. But it probably wouldn't satisfy the Drizzles original request.

And I myself still would like to hear what Verbatum has to say on the matter.

Yeah, I would also like to hear Verb's thoughts. That was just the only direct response I could find after a fairly lengthy search, and it had a few things I had thought of and a bunch more, so I think it's reasonable.

Verbatum? You got us all on the edge of our seats, buddy! :eye:

Thanks for the answer, while not exactly what I was looking for, it helps.

Sadly, I actually had the plot written out with all the characters somehow tying into James and shit and this whole thing with deeper meanings and everything.

Some of it may have sounded dumb but some of it made sense. I posted it on another forum and if I can dig it up i'll post it.

Here's something I found I posted at snk-capcom.com but it was just referring to the whole thing I posted at yet another forum that I cannot remember.

The strange woman appears 3 times, which I thought meant that [James] tried to, or thought about, killing his wife atleast 3 times, until he finally succeeded.

It also involved the 2 Pyramid heads and the open grave with his name on it, which I thought, meant he wanted to [or did unsuccessfully] try suicide after killing his wife, but never did it.

There was a whole bunch more crap about all the monsters and everything.

The above is FAIRLY flimsy.

/me waits for Verbatum.

Asides from NG.com's own Verbatum, you can find a plethora of information, the biggest most fanatical fans, and probably the most english speaking Silent Hill Experts at this forum here (below):

The Best Silent Hill Forum on the net.

I think James did kill himself afterwards. That's how he ended up 'In Water'.

Well I didn't take into account any of the endings. Since I only got 1 or 2.

The message was written by a traveler that indeed did withness the changes of reality. After seeing such truths and going insane, the man eviscerated himself with a fork, leaving his message behind just before his death.

Holes and penetration are a huge part of the Silent Hill mythology, especially in 4. James, Harry, and Henry all enter and exit holes throught each game. Holes are also a stong part of Japanese paranormal tales and superstition.

Hope this helps!!!
