I think it's a complete waste of a CD. If this is really the best they can come up with (ROCK... ROBOT ROCK... dododododo ROCK, ROBOT ROCK!). Really, this may appeal to some people, but the sound is hardly inspiring or even interesting. These guys didn't age gracefully. With the flood of amazing electronic and modern pop music that is being released today, the new Daft Punk album just sounds so tired and played out, even on first spin. Maybe it's just not my thing, I probably would have loved it in 1997... but it's past it's prime to me. (FYI, it's been floating around USENET and the share servers, give it a listen first before plunking down change on this one).

Edit: I should add that the Steam Machine track almost made me want to go out and kill people... God that's probably the worst of the lot, Robot Rock is just silly... and bad.

Damn, I'm negative tonight... I should sleep.

No fair enough, most peeps have had it over a month or so now, it doesnt get any better.

Human After All & Robot Rock start great, sound great, but go on too long, and there's no change.

They are the best...............:crying:

What a crock of shit.

I'm a pretty big daft punk fan, I have Discovery, Homework and a couple singles' vinyls up on my music room wall. I'll probably still end up buying this eventually, but I've heard it a few times through and I'm pretty disappointed.

I remember first getting my Sony MDR-V600DJ headphones and hearing things during songs in Discovery that were very subtle, etc. that made the songs feel very polished. Human After All doesn't have any of these nuances. Its very flat, unnecessarily repetitive (not just in single songs, but there are even a couple songs that sound similar and use the same 'instruments') and there's only a few good songs (Primetime of Your Life is my favourite).

Daft Punk's pretty much lost it as far as the whole "Daft Punk" bit goes. there were only 3 songs on this new album that interested me[although not very much], and they were "The Brainwasher" being the best, "Technologic" being 2nd, and "Robot Rock" 3rd.. but even then, not all that great.
I'd say if you're a loyal DP fan to instead checkout their stuff under the name "Le Knight Club"[much better then their DP stuff] and also checkout this DJ named "Play Paul"[he's the younger brother of one of the Daft Punk guys].

[EDIT]: P.S. If you have a local record shop that has a good whitelabel section, see if you can find "Daft Punk vs Queen - Bite Da Funk".
it's a really cool 'vs' track that mixes Daft Punk's 'Da Funk' with both a cover & normal version of Queen's 'Another One Bites The Dust'. really kick ass!!!

I call bollocks.

Bangalter stuff can be very good, though music sounds better with you (baby - baseley) became a mild bane.....great video though.

Homework was entry level, I wasnt digging that 100%, liked it still. After that success they could deliver Discovery, which is where it's at, what it is all about, any DP apart from thaat album is a bonus if you like it.

The aspext of HAL, it has no theme, it seems void. Crap shit fuck.

Can and will do better. Anyone cool can and do know why.
