Did lucas FINALLY get it right?

I watched the trailer today and I'll say it. It's the only trailer that ever got me excited about a movie and I really didn't care for the last 2 or much about this one, either.

Wow. Vader at the end was the topper... chilling.

I think Lucas realized what a clusterfuck the last two were and pulled out all the stops.

Word is the movie is excellent.


Anyone else have any thoughts?

Looks like an excellent movie, but then again, I really didn't mind the other 2 so much.

This is the same thing people said about Episode II when the trailer came out... and it ended up sucking.

The movie will make lots and lots and lots of money, just as the other 2 have.

And people will skip work to watch this movie. Productivity will go down the toilet.

you would think someone that was so vain that he had to go back and "redo" his older work to look more modern would take more pride in his current work.

i mean the backdrops and cg look like shit. i can almost smell the blue screen in 99% of these new star wars movies. shit they were prolly filmed in his basement. :tickled:

Lucas needs to re-do Ep.1 and 2 now that he seems to have figured things out.

What he should have done is ONE MOVIE.. this one.. the one we all waited to see.. but then again, he couldn't bleed the public for close to a billion, then.. could he?

BTW, the rendering is done on LINUX core. Ep 1 was done on SGI Indy's with Discreet Flame and proprietary libraries.

what the heck does this mean? all that money should go into making sets so the movie doesnt look like one of those early 90s video games that tried to superimpose your body into a video game "world" i think i remember an old tv show that was kinda like that.

FUCKING RELAX!

The rendering was done on (at the time) the highest end video editing equipment available..

They ditched most of it to go with some linux based solution and wrote the libraries in house, which is probably why the look so shitty.
