If I insert a WiFi card in my laptop, and I'm connected to the internet, is this the same thing as a "hot spot"?

What needs to be configured?

You could've posted this in the DS/Revolution thread ... where it has already been answered.

You need a wireless router that plugs into your cable modem. This broadcasts the signal to any piece of electronic equipment that can use it...EX: Your wireless card/laptop, the revolution, the ds.

Can a wireless router be used as a stand alone hotspot?

Or do I need a PC hooked up to it?

Do you recommend the AirPort Express?

A hotspot?

That's where you connect to a wireless network where it's not yours. Normally that's setup by a buisness.

It sounds like you connected to a wireless network and got online, you're um setup.
