Would it just involve mind-numbing, overwhelming despair, and harnessing a lot of suicidal tendencies?

Actually, the article mentions that one of the games is similar to the Sims. Pun fully intended.

The presentations weren't just provocative – at times, they were downright hilarious. Hocking, for example, applied the concept of Emily Dickenson to the Mortal Kombat series in order to demonstrate that such an unusual license requires brand new ideas. The hypothetical game--entitled "Emily Dickinson's Poetry Slam!!"--featured characters like Robert "Iceman" Frost, Mark Twain AKA Fathom, and POE!!, and drew uproarious laughter from the audience.

If only that were real. Id buy the shit.

Ya know, in a world where EA's buying the rights to the air we breathe, a little creativity goes a long way. I'd buy an Emily Dickenson fighting game, but only if this is the "you win" screen:
