I can't take a picture of it, but you wouldn't want me to. All it contains is Chapelle's Show Season 1. It would have contained Season 2 if it hadn't been pushed back. I will be getting the Star Wars Trilogy one day though.

Well, I have some pics, but it's not of my complete collection. The pics were taken when I was at the 1500+/- mark. I'm now in my 1720+ range.

The pics were taken when I took everything out and sorted through them all, putting the ones I wanted out back on the shelf, the others stuffed in plastic boxes that slide under the bed and fill my closet.

I'd give you a list, but it's too much text to post.

Why would you need that many DVDs...?
Ever?
I doubt you've even watched them all.

The funny thing is when i remember 1997... there were 40 movies available (that was a commerical point, like "already more than 40 movies available and growing blah blah blah") :) and you have more than 1700 now... dang

I have around 500+ Not really any doubles though.

1500 is pretty insane, at that point i'd seriously have trouble storing them effectively.

Compulsive collector, just like my boss at work. She has between 2000-2500. Shit comes in, she'll pretty much buy it if she doesn't have a copy. I don't get it myself.
If I haven't used something in a while, I get rid of it pretty quick, unless it's something really hard to find.

I've got maybe 20-25 movies, slowly building up my faves as they roll in to Bookman's.

Why would I need that many DVDs, because it's what I do. Most of my free time is spent watching DVDs.

Why do people here need so many games? The money most here spend on games I spend on Anime DVDs and live action DVDs. Which is worse? I suppose my hobby does tend to take up more room than some people's games, but whatever.

Have I watched them all? I believe I have watched everything in what is pictured here. There are about 30 sitting in the room that I have not watched, and since I'm always getting new stuff, the pile of 30 is always being cycled through, but barely jumps over the 30 mark.

To answer the next question, yes, I do go back and watch things.

Mark of the Wolves- Yeah, I guess it is.

OMG...how do you make time for gaming??
I don't.

I used to play games, but after buying a bunch of games over 18 months, opening them, playing once then storing them away, I don't play them again. What was the point of spending $50 to have a game the day it was released, only to not even play it? There was no point so I stopped doing it.

The current generation of systems has left me high and dry in terms of games I want, and the few that are released that I have a desire for tend to be imports. We'll likely never see a proper Sakura Taisen game here in the US. I used to play RPGs, but my attention span doesn't accomodate that anymore. Fighting games and shooters, and you really don't need a lot of time to enjoy those. Pop it in, play a bit, turn it off.

As for storage, yeah, 1700+ is a bear to store.

And I wouldn't say I'm a compulsive collector. I buy Anime series I want to see and movies I want to see. I don't rent because most of the rental places around here aren't even worthy of drinking the sweat from my ass crack.

Anime, subbed, doesn't get play time in the US, so I'm stuck buying to see the shows the way I desire to see them.

I can honestly say that every DVD I own, I enjoy. I may not get a lot of time to rewatch stuff, but I do rewatch things from time to time. When I want to see a series I haven't watched in a while, I just go watch it. My unwatched pile grows in the mean time, but whatever.

uhm... you've kinda hit the nail on the head.

I don't go out often. Most of the people I used to hang out with moved away or became worthless pieces of shit. No reason to hang out with people like that. I don't mind being at home, so fuck it.

My main reason for leaving the house is to go to work these days. I will go to Neo get togethers every once in a while.

Gotta love how you can get everything delivered using the Internet.

Ive got about 160 different films,i did have more but i sold them,i find it cheaper just to rent films, especially with blockbuster postal rental, only a few cinema films are worth keeping long term,i find 75% of my films just sit there collecting dust.

Probably about 250 to just over 300 with the Laserdiscs. I tend to only keep films of significance (Kubricks, Ray Harryhausen, Hammer horrors, Kurosawa... and such mini collections) - blockbusters are less than 10 films in the collection.

Not liking the public at large (very anti-crowd) myself I can see your point ;)

Anime doesn't count ;)

Seriously though, I started buying 5 years ago, and suddenly (it seemed) I had almost 200. I've cut down tremendosly in the last year because of how long it would take to watch them all.

However, I am now watching some of them that I didn't expect, so it hasn't hurt to have the collection.

In a way I look at them like a book collection: do you really have the time to read them all, or do you like having works you appreciate?

Still, they disenigrate faster than books.
