I've always been a huge fan of Vampire Hunter. I like the whole series, but VH is the Vampire series equivilant to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo for me.

Vampire Hunter is the best.

I like Savior when it came out but the more I played it the more I wanted to play Vampire Hunter. I dont like the Killer Instinct lifebars and honestly the music was better in Hunter.

What about Vampire Hunter 2?!?

Both games (VH and VH2) share exactly the same caracters...

What are the differences? Graphics and animations? Gameplay?!?

Thanks...

I'd say Savior even if I haven't played all the vampire games.

And don't forget Jedah, who wasn't in Hunter, correct?

yeah, good point.

Even Q-Bee (Adon) was a good addition.

And so I have to go with Saviour because it has all the characters I use. The only DH/DS characters I used were Bishamon and Morrigan, which was hardly enough to warrant them being "better" - regardless of aesthetics of music and BG details.

Indeed, Saviour was much better. Plus the addition of better combos and moves that could be strung together easily, for more true combos, was very nice. Plus it's got my man Jedah in it and there were always good matches with him.

You guys are crazy. Donovan, Lei-Lei, Pyron, Phobos > Lilith, Q-Bee, Buletta, Jedah, imo.

Vampire Hunter is the best. I had more fun with it than any other in the series, like the cast better, and the backgrounds and music are better.

VS2 doesn't have Galon/J. Talbain -- unacceptable.

If you play one of the ports, VS is fine, because it includes everyone. I don't mind the Killer Instinct lifebars like some people. But if you play the actual boards, I don't like who VS or VS2 leaves out.

Lei-Lei is in Savior.

Donovan is an ugly character with clunky moves.

Out of that group, only Phobos is worth compaining about not having.

Yup.

Vampire Hunter is the most under-rated Capcom 2d fighter.

Yeah, my mistake. Was relying on my memory, which was not a good idea.

VH is still the most fun I've had with the series, and is my favorite Capcom fighter of all time, edging out the SFA games, the other Vampire games, Third Strike, and beating everything else by a wide margin.

Pyron and Phobos are gay at best. Lei Lei is in Savior, and Savior one has Gallon in it (which is my main reason for hating Savior 2).

Hunter has a great start up music for each fight, but after that? Pfft, it's all savior. Make no mistake, Hunter's pretty good, but Savior is just better in every way (more sound effects for the characters, and Lilith!!!!)

Who is more gay? Pyron, who is very original with cool animation? Or goth wannabe Jedah? I mean, seriously. Phobos gay = wrong. And I think Demitri's projectiles look wimpy in Savior. To top it off, Savior's new backgrounds suck compared to the atmosphere in Vampire and Vampire Hunter.

Anyway, he already has Vampire Savior. They aren't that expensive -- my advice would be to just buy Hunter. Play both, and decide for yourself which one you like better.

I was at play-asia today and noticed that there's a Vampire Darkstalkers Collection coming to the PS2 in Japan. How cool is that? All the games (arcade perfect?) in one collection.

yeah, that's good advice. nonetheless, he asked for our opinions on what was the best, and I guess we all did that.

Jedah was a very dope character though. The dashes and air dashes and his supers really did me in. Call him gay if you must, but I think he has an awesome design overall, and his playability exceeds Pyron's by a mile. Pyron seems too left behind from DS, while all the other original cast members evolved.

Thank you, guys, for all the replies...

I will probably go with Vampire Hunter...

I'm curious to know what possessed Capcom to release, in 1997, 3 Vampire/Darkstalkers games (VH2, VS, VS2) in the same year... :spock:

Anyway, is there someone who actually played Vampire Hunter 2?!? Is it any better than the first? Both games share the exact amount of characters but i'm assuming that, since VH2 is 2 years younger, it should have at least better graphics and animations than VH... is this true?!?
