"Punch Out" cabinet sound problem???

My friend has a double monitor "Punch Out" cabinet thats having a sound problem and I was wondering if anyone might have experience with this problem. Theres a constant hum through the speakers when the games playing. All the music and sound effects are working, theres just a loud hum in the background. I turned the volume down and it did nothing to stop the problem. Any suggestions?
