BTW, the Australian Grand Prix was an excellent race. Fantastic result for Renault with Giancarlo Fisichella coming in first and Fernando Alonso coming in third. :D

I'm really glad to see Renault kick some ass last weekend and hope they do well for the rest of the season, so obviously my vote goes to Renault. :D

Also note that I'm really surprised how well Red Bull Racing did as well. I mean Coulthard got 4th and Klien got 7th! I figured they were just slightly modified Jaguars from last year, but man the "new" Red Bull Racing team is already doing better than Jaguar ever has.

Yep Red Bull team has done an amazing work to comply with the new rules with efficiency.
Renault has proven it s in the course this year.
Ferrari has a sad start with Schumy's accident.

That should be a great season with a lot of potent cars :)

I really hope Renault can win this year. Fisichella shows so much promise in how he dominated the first race. I'm surprised how well he adapted to the Renault car after being with Sauber-Petronas last year.

I'm getting so tired of Ferrari's dominance in F1.

F1 sucks as of now, too many rules, too much electronics, no challenge at all, no really good opponents for Schumacher (Fisichella, Montoya and Alonso are just ok, Coulthard is old, Barrichello is an useless tool, Raikkonen is a blond northern faggot.
really fucking boring.

as for this year
McLaren and especially Ferrari (that will use last year car for the next 3-4 races) are still late with preparation. This would give some advantage to Renault that is honestily doing very good
Since I'm italian I'm kinda happy if Ferrari wins (although I dislike Schumaker, the man, not the driver), I'd just like some more challenge and action

Which option means "nuke the French?"

And on topic, I have to say that I am just rooting against Ferrari more than for any one team. I'd really like to see someone, anyone knock Schumacher down the ladder a little bit. Parity is interesting.

schumacher will be the champion again this season.

in Melbourne Barrichello went from 11th on the grid to finish 2nd. Ferrari is only team to still use their old car (modified) while the rest of the field are using their new 2005 models. When Ferrari bring out the F2005 in Bahrain its gonna be last season all over again (& 2002 season).

Ferrari can only be beat when the Schumacher/Brawn/Todt trio leave in 2006.

As far as the other cars go, right now its Mclaren & Renault to watch & then later in the season Williams once they get their act together.

Good for Red Bull in Melbourne but that was most likely a freak result due to the shitty qualifying format & weather luck they had. Qualifying definatley needs to changed.

Can a mod edit my poll and add BAR-Honda as one of the options? I think the reason I forgot them is because the F1 page (www.formula1.com) didn't list them as a team in the 2005 season!

It already started, Loeb won Montecarlo and Solberg Sweden.

Next race is Mexico 11-13 march if I´m not mistaken.

Gardemeister (Ford) is first at driver standings charter

We already waited the entire last season for McLaren and Williams to get their acts together, and it never happened. And Williams only has one good driver this year. I think Honda is as likely to get their act together as either of those two. Honda was powering both teams during high points in their histories in the late '80s.

As for this race: I was glad for DC's good run. Slight vindication for him, and good for Red Bull. Glad to see Klein have a drive again this year...I wouldn't say he's great (or even good), but he makes things interesting with his reckless driving.

McLaren, I don't care at all about. Feel bad for Kimi, but he had his shot. JPM, I never liked.

Extremely happy for Fisichella...finally in a semi-competetive team...he deserves it. Still not crazy about Alonso after he brake checked DC back in '03... but he's a good driver.

Webber's great, but I don't know how well he'll do if Williams don't start pulling together. Heidfeld? Forget it.

All that Button nonsense from the end of last season soured me a little on Honda, but Takuma is still fun to watch race.

I'll be interested to see if Toyota actually has anything this year, or if Trulli really blew it. Ralf didn't really have a choice, although it's hard to imagine Williams preferring Heidfeld.

:spock:
Carlos Sainz retired last year man. 2004 was his last year.

Oh yeah, I want Bar Honda to do good this year, they were second last year, maybe this year they can topple Ferrari (well, i'm hoping anyway).

Hey WTF?!
Wheres BAR Honda??

Anyways, I hope Sato Takuma can better his 3rd place finish from last year.
If it wasnt for the rain during qualifying, i think he would have finished much higher, perhaps getting some points.

Im not so big on the 1 set of tires rule, kind of makes pit strategy worthless. The weight savings from a lighter fuel load isnt nearly enough to make up for the time lost. With fresh soft tires, it was more useful, now it will just be make as few stops as possible.

I imagine it's the same as what Jaguar used last year (which I think was a Cosworth one).

Renault was quite in the drama at the end of the season and the fact that they didn't reach the place they aimed for the constructor championish let them a bad taste in their mouth. They want to erase this with this season and it starts in the good way.
I don't expect good result from BMW and Mercedes at the beginning of the season since their new drivers will have to get used to the tem.
The key is this season is:"Does Ferrari will manage to keep the team motivated this year". If yes then I don't expect much for the first place, if not......
