What's funny was that I was just thinking the Rockman Arcade games did get released, but now that I think of it; it was on the Neo Geo Pocket and it was a Japanese cart. I'm kind of curious if the arcade version did indeed play better than the Neo Geo Pocket version. (Not that it played bad, just that I think they may have made Megaman's default blaster a bit too powerful, in the pocket version. I would've liked to make the bosses a tougher fight if you didn't have the appropriate weapon for a boss' weakness.) I'm guessing the cool extras like the unlockable museums wouldn't be in the Battle and Fighters ports. Then again, I would guess they had an extensive museum built into the whole package anyway, making it a moot point.

Still, this package is at least as worth it as the Sonic Collection was. Stuff you just can't beat for $20. It probably has both the arranged soundtrack selection and the ability to change your controller config.

P.S. - The Box art is cool.

Glad to see that the Xbox is getting some Mega Man love, but everyone who wants this probably has it. There were some minor problems with the PS 2 and GC versions though - maybe they can be ironed out for a perfect version on t3h bawkz ....

This was one I actually patiently waited until all versions were out. It helped with the wait because I was playing Megaman X games I never played before. The last one I was playing was Megaman X5 for PC (yeah, I'm not playing them in order). It's all right. I think I might have liked X4 better than X5, but maybe that's nostalgia talking. Still, the regular Megaman collection is going to be sweet for me. I kind of skipped around in the Megaman series due to timing, of all things. I played Megaman 1, 2, 3. Megaman 4, 5, 6, and 7, I barely touched. (This was because my friends had the game systems and the games. I had the computers. But they did keep up with every Megaman.) Megaman 8 was when I came back into Megaman full force. Then it's been a trip through the Megaman X series. Still Megaman 1, 2, and 3 is fondly remembered because of the soundtrack. Absolutely unforgettable. I distinctively remember tunes from them as if it hasn't been years since I played them. Then again I used to listen to that little musical loop in Megaman 2, where you entered the passcode, for minutes at a time. (It kind of reminded me of that part of that Motown song, "Ain't no mountain high enough" (nearly the same chord progression))

What are the minor problems with PS2 version?

I used to own GC version and I hate the control layout......

I had the PS2 version but now I want the
Gamecube version now. What are the
problems with the PS2 & GC versions of
Megaman Anniversary Collection because
I never noticed any problems with the PS2
version except the buttion layout though?. :kekeke:

The GC got the control issues. Button B jumps and A shoots. But you'll get used to it.

I noticed the screen quality on the 2 versions immediately though.

I plan on buying the GC version because the PS2
buttion layout is hard for me to play & the GC
controller looks easier for me. What about that
GC controller that looks like a Super Nintendo
controller. Since it is an import controller can it
work on the US GC systems?. :kekeke: :kekeke:

I don't see why not. I use a Super Famicom controller in my American SNES system.

Thank You for the info. :kekeke:

I better order the GC controller that
looks like a Super Nintendo controller
soon at The Video Game Game Depot
which they carry them in stock. Do you
know the name of the controllers?. They
can also be used for GBA games with
the GBA Player for the GC. :kekeke:

That's the Hori digital controll pad.
It's nice for GBA games and such :buttrock:

I do. A friend of mine has that game. Rockman Power Battle 2 runs smoother on the PS2 than on the GC.

Actually, I have to say that in my opinion, X4 was legitimately better than X5. From what I recall, X5 and X6 were largely rushed compared to X4. At least, that's the impression that I got (that X5, barring maybe some minor graphical scaling-back, probably would have been done on the SNES or Genesis without major problems).

I've heard that the display quality is a little off, and that the music on the PS 2 version is not the original set of tracks. My only real complaint with the gamecube version is the control scheme. Well, that plus the GC controller is absolute $hyt3 if you want to use the D-pad.

I better get 2 Hori digital controller pads so I
can play Mega Anniversary Collection for the
Gamecube. The 2nd Hori digital controller pad
will be an extra just in case. The controller is
good with the GBA games on the GBA Player.
I wish that they had a Hori digital controller pads
with turbo switch's for the buttions though. :kekeke:
