Comin out at the end of the month.

Wow! An xbox game that looks like it might be worthwile, and guess what? Its a Sega/Sammy game no surprise.

Damn I wish I had BB. 4PL simo online. I've been waiting for an online co-operative beat em up for years!

I heard only EB is selling this and that they will only fill pre-orders. I also read somewhere that this will get a very low print run, like 3600 copies made! Sounds like BS to me.

It looks good, but I'll have to wait and play it for a real judgement. It's done by Sega AM2 so I have some confidence. I hope it will be good.

Yeah, looks like I'm definitely going to have to preorder this one. I'll tell my interested friends to preorder it, as well. The previews (done by people who did play the arcade) make it sound like the real deal. Being done by AM2 does make the deal sound sweeter, though. A good multi-player co-op beat-em-up, in the vein of Double dragon is a real rarity, in this day. Very few attempt it, and very few of those come close to capturing the goodness of the old classics.

Still, the abilities sound great. I mean, not only is it 4 player co-op, but they can play on Live and have free roam over the city while it happens. There are team attacks, a radar used to keep track of other players, etc. Definitely features I could've wished to see in a Beat-em-up.

*scurries off to preorder at ebgames.com* Yeah, I said "scurries."

Anyone up for planning a 4-player session or 2 come release? My friends only play sports games and Halo 2 (thank God for SFAC on Live).

edit: Okay, pre-ordered w/overnight shipping. Here's hoping for an hour or two of playing with some NG.com members on the 30th!

i just read about online mode and it seems pretty cool.

first of all, same-console co op seems to be in but im unsure as to whether it supports split screan full roaming or not. you might be limited as to how far you can stray from other players (unlike online where you go where you want?)

the way they handled xbox live seems hardcore out the ass. apparently you can customize difficulty, character level, etc. you can set it to NO CONTINUES and basically if you get KOed you go into spectator mode and hope your teamates can make it to the next area where you will be brought back into the game. should make for some intense late level action. also everyone is ranked based on accumulated points on live. hopefully your points scale with the settings your game has (IE late levels on hard with no continues = massive points. easy, or unlimited continues = meh points).

now i want to play it. :crying:

I think I am going to get this, I just can't resist a co-op beat em up on Live.

Oh god, I really don't want to give EB any of my money, but looks like I'll have to. I'll take my time in pre-ordering it though.

PS: Which one of you guys is planning to get bored with the game within a couple of weeks so I can buy it used from you? :spock:

Even though I think it might be a BS but I still pre-order one anyway.

Still remember Sega did this stuff years ago for their Saturn games (HOTD, PDS, and Shining Force III) so I prefer pre-order Spikeout for insurance.

i pre ordered too. might also be eb games in all of its faggotry trying to score all the pre orders. knowing its a niche game word will spread fast and they could gobble up all the monies.

there might be a chance that i get bored of it rather quickly depending on how deep the game play is and how fun the levels are to play. why bother paying $25 shipped a few weeks down the road though when you can get one new now for $30?

btw they told me its released the 23rd and iver read both 23rd and 29th online. was it delayed or something?
