There's a couple of types of MVS-AES converters. By far the most popular one is the Phantom-1. You plug the Phantom-1 into your AES cart slot, and plug the MVS cart into the Phantom-1. There are several revisions, with different colored PCBs. Some newer MVS carts may not work with the Phantom-1, and some Phantom-1's can be finicky about working in NGH systems with loose cart slots.

I had an older model (blue PCB) Phantom-1 for a brief time when I had an AES, but couldn't get it to work. I guess the AES cart slots were too loose. I wound up getting rid of the AES and switching over to MVS.

Just make sure that it is a blue phantom 1 converter. The only games that are not supposed to work with it are SVC Chaos and Metal Slug 5 because Playmore put a new protection chip in them, but one member here was lucky enough to get them to work on his AES.
