The DS supporters are overjoyed and the PSP supporters have posted how much they'd like to see a 2dCastlevania on the PSP.

What does this joke of a gaming site have to say?

Though it was initially just a bit disappointing to see the DS version stick with the Game Boy Advance's style of graphic presentation instead of a somewhat 3D approach to the adventure platformer

Oh, and there's some minor details about the actual game in there.

Context is a wonderful thing.

Though it was initially just a bit disappointing to see the DS version stick with the Game Boy Advance's style of graphic presentation instead of a somewhat 3D approach to the adventure platformer, this game really needs to be seen in motion to truly appreciate the sequel. It's certainly true that the game looks very similar to the GBA versions of Castlevania, but there's much more going on that the single-screen handheld just couldn't handle. Enemies are much larger and utilize way more sprite effects when they move or when they're destroyed. Backgrounds are far more detailed and vibrant on the Nintendo DS.

It sure as hell doesn't sound like "Symphony of the Night" to me. The 3D elements in it were so few and far between that I'd say it wasn't really "more 3d" than Yoshi's Island for SNES. (higher quality in those elements, sure, but they were less common possibly)

Given IGN's history, I can only take this as "we;d prefer a 3d or quasi-3d Castlevania, which is consistent with that site's retarded history.

And no, that wasn't out of context int he least...

Fuck IGN

They're referring to 3-D as in LoI 3-D,it seems.

I'm all about 2D Castlevania, imo, the 3D games have been complete shit. It's still a little of a letdown that this game looks like a GBA game, I'm sure it'll be a hell of alot more impressive than it looks. Not very big on the touch screen element, wtf are you supposed to do, keep the stylus in one hand ready to go in case you have to use a spell really quick? I'm still gonna buy it, Konami is gonna have to really sell this game tho. I think the DS is starting to die fast... They need a ton of games soon before the PSP hits... Although I'm not sure ppl are going to spring for the crazy high price of the PSP... Time will tell....

1) No, you do not need to use the stylus at any time when you might be battling.

2) Even if you did, see your finger? Guess what, it doesn't scratch the screen at all, I've done it tons. Just wipe the screen off with a cleaner cloth later. In early development, they actually didn't intend to put a d-pad and buttons on the DS, it was later they tied it to the gba by adding those.

2D>3D

Castlevania is meant to be 2D. This new game for the DS is why I bought my DS in the first place, well that and the supposed new Super Mario Brothers game coming out.

This game looks awesome, I'm sure Konomi won't let us down. All the GBA Castlevania games kick ass, more along those lines is a good thing.
