world of warcraft offline?

its been more than 4 hours what gives?
btw im a noob at this mmorpg thing i get on yesterday an its shut down today.

get used to not playing on tuesdays, at least not during the day. scheduled maintenance always takes longer than 4hrs.

which server did you pick?

im not sure i just picked any random rp server

MMORPG games are plagued with server down time at least one weekend a month or so. I played EQ for 5 years and at the release of every new expansion the game would be out of comission for the better part of 4 days. WoW is actually doing well about this compared to EQ believe it or not (after they fixed the login issues). This is just something you have to get accustomed to with the genre. My favorite with EQ was their propensity to institute lengthy patches on hollidays so that we working folk had no chance to play on our day off. In all reality the only reason there is so much complaining about down time is because so many people who generally wouldn't play a MMO have taken this one on since its based on a great RTS and has a Diablo feel to it and for a person who is used to sitting down whenever s/he wants to play it takes a while to get used to regular patches to update/fix gameplay.

you picked one shitty ass mmorpg to introduce you into the genre. horrible balance issues, servers are a b s o l u t e SHIT and 80% of the game they promised isnt even live yet (with no word as to when it will be patched in). sure blizzard has always taken their sweet ass time with updates and patches, which was fine with out-of-the-box games like diablo and starcraft, but this is a mmorpg were talking about here. people pay monthly for service, which is absolutely shit and/or nonexistant right now.

my brother plays and its sad. he cancelled before his free month was over then reactivated his account a week later.

i would take the game back and get dark age of camelot collection or something. everquest ii patched several times their 1st month with content too i think. servers should go down 1 hr a day for maintenance if at all (most newer mmorpg dont even have to go down for maintenance). its obvious blizzard dont know shit about running a live game. i think all their talent that created bnet left to make guild wars (which is do out soon i think. and its free. and its like diablo.)
