KOF2000 Armor/Counter mode

I think the counter mode is done really well this year. It's great how the character's sprite turns all white when you cancel an attack to go into one of your own. In '99 I hardly ever used Armor or Counter mode, but in 2000 I see myself building up the power gauge and instead of launching a SDM, I use the counter (BCD) and go bezerk. (Works really good with Shingo and Kensou) Also, I really like the escape mode this year too (AB) but I miss the sidestep move alot!

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the sidestep move too. I actually have not experimented with the armor and counter moves yet, but I will look into it more now. Sounds a lot more useful this year.

SNK stated that they wanted counter mode to be more useful in 2K. I've toyed with it a bit in practice mode, but I rarely use it when playing normal.

However, there are some problems with counter mode. Lin has a crouching B infinite in counter mode (I can't remember exactly how to do it). I think some other people have counter mode infinites, but I couldn't say for sure.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always felt the effects of armor mode are not worth three power stocks. You can still be tripped and some moves will still knock you down. I'd rather have the three power stocks.
