If we're going to be spammed like this, give me the ability to ban these fucktards. This is ridiculous.

This is a serious request, I don't care about full modship or whatever, give me the ability to ban members.. make the official spam killer or something. I'll take care of this now, MULTIPLE TIMES DAILY problem.

Great Idea! It is really getting annoying now with these idiots spamming up the place! But, how are you going to prevent them from making new accounts and spamming away? That is the trick besides the clean-up!

How about making one of those confirmation code features on the registration page where it just displays a random letter-number combination which has to be typed in order to continue registration.

That would stop those spambots..

They are most likely not spam-bots but people logging the accounts and posting. It's not entirely random as they are generally posting in Everything Else and Unrelated.

And they are cleaned up relatively shortly after they are created. Having more people involved would not help the problem at this point.

They also are coming from different IPs so IP bans aren't going to do it.

These new Spammers are probably people.

M_M has instituted new measures for registration (email confirmation), and we may be adding image authentication.

Still, it seems these are all coming from site that is basically a haven of employed forum spammers hitting forums everywhere on the net. If they're people, well it will be difficult to stop them completely.

Alerting us to spammer presences is always welcome.

I like the "gottta wait 24h before you can make your first post" suggestion someone made, at some point in time, in some thread.

If they're robots or real people, they are not going to wait around for 24 hours. They would most likely forget given the number of forums these ppl must be hitting. Might piss off a few legitimate new users though.
