I just got this game last night. Im going to sell it back to the store tonight. The controls are terrible, the quarter circle motions and uppercute motions are ok, but the half circle motions are impossible. This makes half the moves unusable.

Its such a shame. The graphics and sound are perfect. I really really wanted to like this game, but I cant. :(

How are the load times IYO?

If we're back to the old PSX SFA1 and 2 Loads of 12 seconds...forget it. It it's SFA3's six second loads...I'll consider.

I've never had too much trouble with the PS controller 1/4 motions? Is the feel of the pad similar? If so, good.

This is the kind of game I would buy with the PSP.

Was anyone elses first playstation game Street Fighter Alpha as well? Ugh, really made we want to get a saturn, lol.

SFA on Saturn isn't much better. It's SFA2 where the system shines. Best SFA port to date is still the PC version.

As for the half circle motions, that's a real pity. How was it in comparison to Darkstalkers 3 on PSOne? That's the closest release I can think to peg it to.

is it the d-pad or the game itself that makes the controls diifficult?

I've had no problems pulling off moves. Do you have a stiff d-pad?

I've spoiled myself with only playing on arcade sticks for the last 5 years. But I went to training and tried to do half circle moves and just couldnt, no matter how many times I tried. :crying:

The load times are great, 5 seconds max. NO problems. The animation, music and graphics are amazing, Really high quality. If you can stand he d pad and crap buttons then get it. But I wasted a lot of money and just got frustrated.

Maybe it's your d-pad because I had a unit where it wouldn't register any fireball motion facing the right side. On another unit I was pulling off the moves perfectly.

Street Fighter Zero 3 is the best Alpha game on Saturn by far.

i have some problems too, but that s only because i am not too good at fighting games with a "psx" style dpad since my brother in law manages to play perfectly it seems (he is far better than i am)

Guess I'm on the side where the controls aren't a problem.

Haven't had any control issue's with my PSP running, Chaos Tower's moves. I actually find them responsive. HC motions seem fine to me.

Hmmm... i have a second run of the PSPs, and so does my friend who also couldnt pull off any moves. Maybe sony cut a few corners and lowered the quality. Its no big deal though, I still have my saturn and DC versions which are fine (plus the secret rom ones)

Street Fighter alpha 3 for saturn is tops. An incredible port.

How can you tell if you have a first or second run PSP? My shoulder buttons feel normal..the square buton feels exactly the same as the others and my d-pad doesnt squeek...I find the controls very responsive...

I realy want to give VC a shot, I just hate using shoulder buttons on fighters, I would much rather have a six button saturn layout.

That's an interesting point, something I hadn't thought of that makes sense. I have a second-rub PSP, too, and I have trouble with HC moves a lot of the time, too. I can get everything else, QC, Dragon Punch, supers, whatever, but for HC, I really have to concentrate on the smooth roll from start to end or I get nothing.

Oh, and my square button sticks BAD, maybe there's something to that second-run theory...
