Which would you suggest for someone who isn't exactly the biggest racer fan, but wants something to play online every now and then?

OutRun2 > Burnout 3.

Burnout 3 is a fun game, but not very deep. It's got an insane level of graphic polish, and a long single player mode, but after a while, you get tired of the bullshit rubber-band AI and the shallow gameplay. The music also blows donkey, with it's FM-tastic pop-punk Attack Of The Good Charlotte Clones.

OutRun2 isn't anywhere near as flashy, but is a beautiful game with some good, classic Sega music, and the best powerslides going. Very deep handling, and a lot of cool extras to unlock.

Burnout 3= the hot girl everyone wants a piece of, but is dumb as a brick.
OutRun2= the not-as-flashy, but very pretty girl who knows how to fuck well.

OutRun2 is also only $20 now, while BO3 is still $50 I believe. This makes it really easy. Get OutRun2 now while it's cheap, since the inevitable BO sequel will come out and BO3 will be ass cheap. (This is EA after all).

Your words of advice along with OR2's $20.00 dollar price tag at Best Buy have convinced me that it is the one.

Just out of curiousity, does either game have a custom soundtrack mode?

Nope, but honestly, hearing anything but Sega's very classic, catchy tuneage while playing that game would be weird and unholy. BO3 needs it because of it's awful music. There's also unlockable tunes from the older OutRun game, and some other stuff. You'll dig it man.

Sweet, I'll see you online soon hopefully. It's just a matter of hauling my lazy ass to Best Buy and buying the game.
