It's aparent that he would do the best job (shoud he accept it.)

Unlike other Analysts, he has no stake in the market. This is the best solution to FTL's ongoing Conflict of interest.

This is a great idea, I never understood why FTL was inchange of a priceguide, when he's one of the biggest collectors here. If prices fall he loses money, the person running it should be neutral.

Meh, just axe all the price guides directly. The MVS one hasn't been updated for ages.

That's true, but FTL is also much more knowledgeable about the home cart market for this very reason, and also pays much closer attention to it. I'm not really sure how much Tonk cares about home carts.

This shit is getting old and I'm tired of it. Fuck the pricejackers trying to protect their video game investments. Go get a real job if you want to make money. Video games are for gamers.

This site should stop whining and buy mvs. Honestly. Alot of the morons who whine only do it to fill a worthless day. Its like whining about Kizuna, who gives a fuck, its not like we will come across it.
Bottom line, only a select few titles that are really good have sky rocketed in value. Kizuna is the most notable, but its not like 98 or ffs isnt readily available.

This was a more valid issue a few years back when garou got ruined, but always remember, theres mvs for the gamer. Anyone who is complaining about these US HC prices is a collector in the closet anyway.

Honestly. Alot of those games are fucking impossible to find. I never see RB2 English anywhere, would I complain? Fuck no. I bought my JP copy from John.
At one point people were complaining that jp prices fell.. Shit when that happened we should have rejoiced. I grabbed some titles I wanted and was good and well with it.

King of Fighters 94 50 80 U
King of Fighters 95 60 85 C
King of Fighters 96 80 110 C
King of Fighters 97 ß90 120 C
King of Fighters 98 ß100 140 C
King of Fighters 99 ß100 150 U
King of Fighters 2000 ß160 190 C
King of Fighters 2001 ß195 235 U
King of Fighters 2002 ß210 219 U
King of Fighters 2003 345 365 U

If you really believe the guide has a use:

Anyone who is after US games has some collector in them. I dont give a shit as long as I got carts to play, but at the same time I cant fool myself into thinking "Oh only if the guides just vanished". Sure I wouldnt mind it, but some games are low and are staying low because of the guide. Consider this also.
Lets also say that the guide doesnt effect the cheaper market. How does this directly effect my purchases? Hell, I can get a FFS Neo cart for nothing practically anywhere. Alot of expensive titles have stayed expensive also. Look at Metal Slug for example. Should I complain? Nah, cause MS isnt that great a game anyway.

Think of the two sides to this coin. Sure some carts are expensive, and that guide isnt going to effect them anyway.

I bet if the guide vanished nothing would change. Honestly, get over this shit. Its just a reference, if some idiot wants to go by that reference, he has that right. Its the dudes who complain that place laden importance on that guide.

Shawns store is a perfect example of the guide's ability. His prices are still higher then the guide, so then who do we blame? Anyone can make a guide, and thats the idea here.. Nobody has 'super authority' over the market. If you want to beat the guide (you believe the guide is REALLY important) and make this magic happen, then sell you're new copy of KOF 2003 or SSV SP for 150$. This wont happen though.

Just take the guide with a grain of salt. (And I find the biggest hypocrisy is that the dudes who like to complain have sales and then have there game prices guide friendly.)

I do agree with alot of you dudes that prices need to be updated. KOF 96 is a good example, that game should be listed in the 60$'s on low, and 90's on high.

He doesn't give a shit towards games that don't interest him.
Making Tonk the price guide analyst is signing for the dead of the market.

Just like magic I'm sure all the carts he owns would suddenly skyrocket... Without thinking of selling them of course... :kekeke:

This post gets an A+.

I'm closing this thread since Tonk doesn't want it, but reposting this post in the "discussion" thread in General Discussions.
