Hello there, Ladies & Gentlemen. I have a question for all of you. Who is your favorite KOF voice actor and why? I'm going to keep my answer a secret until February 20th. It's your time to shine, folks. And by the way, is there any way to communicate with these voice actors somehow? Thanks. :help:

Kong Kuwata. I dig the tone of his voice, but the main reason I like him is he looks crazy madcap bonkers in most every picture I've ever seen of him (these samples, however, look relatively tame next to the ones published in NEO-GEO FREAK magazine).

Rekishi ga chiganun da yo!

Well, it would be easy to say Nonaka or Yasui, but I have to admit as for voice actors the series made a big step forward since 2001.

Before 2001, the only 'pro VA' possible was Koyasu Takehito?

2001 brought us my beloved Wakamoto-san, you know...

But I especially love Shintani Mayumi for Angel 2002, making her a total Haruhara Haruko pun! :)

I hate the new Mai voice from 03 and Chaos. She sounds obnoxious!

You're wrong, Keiichi Nanba (Andy), Nobuyuki Hiyama (Joe), Kouji Ishii (Yamazaki), Kazuya Ichijo (Jhun), Eiji Takemoto (Ramon), Hidetoshi Nakamura (Seth), Ayako Kawasumi (Hinako), Katusyuki Konishi (Maxima), Yumi Kakazu (Kula), Mami Kingetsu (Xiangfei) and Shiho Kikuschi (Whip) are also 'pro VA's' who voiced KOF Characters

BTW, Yasui and Yuuki Matsuda are also pro VA's

Wow, my terrible bad for skipping especially Nanba and Hiyama. Truth is the 'seiyuu' part of the game went more 'pro' since KOF99 after all. And BTW, Matsuda is one of my favs... :)

Koyasu Takehito, of course. Then again I'm a huge fan of his music. :kekeke:

EDIT: After even more searching, I managed to find Yamanishi's pic. He looks so mild-mannered considering he does Kazuki's and Billy's voices.

Just out of curiousity....Is the guy who does the voice work for Kusanagi in 2003 the same guy who does Orochimaru in Naruto?

What I know for sure he's the VA for the Akira's Kaneda character.

He was introduced in the cast in 2002, just for the sake of that uber-cool akira pun with the K9999vsKusanagi custom intro.

Yeah, someone as SNK loved Akira. Kula smashing the Zero Cannon just as Tetsuo did with the Sol Satellite was just the beginning I guess. :)

The fellow that voices Kyo. What's his catchphrase? Tora Tora? What's it translate to?

On the question of SNK voice actors, nobody can match BJ Love. Someone should bump Rare's godly thread.

The voice of Kusanagi (aka, Clone Kyo) was Iwata Mitsuo (as Shito pointed out, he was the voice of Kaneda in "Akira," and he was cast in order to do the "Akira" homage K9999 vs Kusanagi pre-bout animation). He didn't play Orochimaru, tho'. Iwata's also know for the following anime roles:

Gan-chan (the rat in the "Ah! My Goddess" mini-goddess TV series)
Ooe Kintarou (main character in "Golden Boy" OAV series)
Takeuchi Itsuki ("Initial D")
Mic Sounders XIII (made-in-America comedy relief robot in "Yuushaou Gaogaigar")

Ora, ora. Basically, the equivalent of "C'mon, c'mon."

Are you Tora?

Hi there, guys & gals. I know I said I was going to tell you who I like and why on February 20th, but why let the suspense thicken? The reason why I like this KOF Voice Actress is because 1) Friendly 2)Nice work 3)Can kick a lot of butt on the mic when becoming a KOF Character and 4) You can count on her anytime. The KOF Voice actress I'm talking about is Kaori Horie as Yuri, who's one of my favorite KOF characters.

If you need anything, Just give me a Wink.
