Once your time has expired as part of the living, how would you want to be 'laid out' ?

I wanna be strapped to a Winnebago and set onfire while drving down the highway. Then I want my friends to gather my ashes and create bullets out of them and I want them to shot a hooker transvestite and gorilla. Then I want them to put the hooker transvestite and the gorilla in the same casket and I want my headstone to say, "Here lies Dave: Half Hooker Transvestite, half gorilla"

I want to be water reducted. The same way the dispose of diseased animal carcasses

Like a high pressure acid dissolving process

All that's left is a tiny handful of powdery bone fragments

There's a company trying to introduce this method to the undertaking community- but it has been met with resistance

Buried is my offical answer NOW and forever, but a few years back I wanted to be shot into space in a cold coffin where one day I might have been revived by extra-terestrials and tour the galaxy... and before that, I wanted a Funeral Pyre w. me dressed up in camo brandishing a katana sword and a .45ACP.

...but alas, that is all ended. *I just want to be buried and let this biological housing return to dust.

They have "green funerals" where you are not embalmed, wrapped in wool, placed in a wicker coffin, and buried in the middle of the woods with a seed of a tree (your choice) on the ground on top of you.

I want that (or give my body to science).

Cremation seems like the best way to go, after I've been picked dry for functional organs. Just scatter my ass over a flower bed or something - cemeteries take up way too much space.

Viking funeral all the way. My wife has already been informed of this just in case it comes up.

I guess it depends on cause of death, like if you are burned to death, cremation seems futile, the job may already be done so you dont get the choice.(OK they could plant the ashes).

Unfortunately Ive had two friends die here over the last month, one was a pilot who crashed his light aircraft, he was cremated and the ashes scattered from a chopper.
The other was a fisherman who was killed in a house fire on new years day, his ashes were scattered at sea which seemed appropriate.

You mean, in case it turns out you're not immortal? Well, I guess you should cover all your bases...

In another forum where this question was also asked, here are the results so far:

Question: How will you be, er, "laid out"? :: Total Votes:42
Poll choices Votes Statistics
Buried 12 [28.57%]
Cremated 22 [52.38%]
Other 8 [19.05%]

Looks like more people like the sheer pleasure of cremation over any other type of afterlife.
