PSP QUESTION

You might want to try search next time. 
But to answer your question. Sony says that games should be region free, allowing people to buy games as they travel. However, the games themselves do list the region on the box. So until some games come out in the US/EU we don't know for sure.
I also heard somewhere else that they have left it up the software developers to decide, much the like Xbox. If thats true its probably safe to say they are locked.
Movies will most definetly be region locked.

Lumines and Minna no golf do not have region indicated.

Just reread your original post. I was assuming you meant region coding on the psp in general not just the US model.
To answer that, I would have thought the US would have been the same as the Jap hardware wise. It all depends on the software. Until it gets released its all speculation atm.

I think its safe to wait for US release. At that point, any games u might want will be out over there anyway. As its the software thats locked and not hardware, i guess the question you should be asking yourself is...robertdc said:

There's been a bit of vagueness about it, but at this point I don't expect they will be, but you may be better off waiting anyway- in case Sony of America announces an NOA-like dead pixel policy for instance (which they may feel pressed to do thanks to NOA's)

To answer your question about why i hate sony, yes they ran over my dog kutaragi then Proceeded to shit on his dead face and followed with the violent raping of my dogs cold dead corpse, so there you have it the reason i hate sony.
Well actually the real reason i hate them is that they continue to produce shit systems, i have a ps2 and frankly it blows cock, psONE is uber shit since all of my friends have had one, i played, i hated it, i make fun of it, and tell other people in stores who are about to buy, to quote "put that peice of garbage in the trash where it belongs." As far as PSP is concerned one of my friends imported one, and within about oh say 5 fucking min. the screen was already fucked to the lowest pits of hell. He the said to himself hey why don't i buy another one since this one broke, maybe the next one will be less defective or dare i say.... work like it's supposed to. well he bought another one and this one lasted MUCH longer than the fisrt..... 15 min. Thats right 15 WHOLE complete min. worth, of good(mediocre) gameplay. This time the screen didn't break oh no, this time the thing pretty much fell apart a button came off(square) and it wouldn't read the disc anymore, thats right IT WOULD NOT PLAY ANYTHING, nothing came on the screen and the dsisc continued to spin and spin and spin and spin until the end of fucking time(or until he took it out). Let me make this clear though i like sonys nongaming electronics, no beef with them, but when it comes to games sony needs to stop and think...... maybe just maybe we could try a little bit to make a system that say.... worked/lasted/was good. Kutaragi needs to have some alone time and think about what hes done.

because of this, whatever. But please also take into account that i by no meens think that DS is better, DS is just as big of a piece of shit(gimmick). Personally the only handhelds i can stand are GBA and NGPC everything else ngage gizmondo psp ds should be put in a land fill. i also feel the same way about todays consoles, imo the last console that was even worth buying was DC.

Also for those of you who don't want a psp there are ways to do some of the media options on a GBA or DS i found a few different ways on ebay( to lazy to find a link so beleive or not) that is actually very cheap and appears to be on par with that of PSP media options.

I and other memembers have imported systems and had no probs. Maybe a dead pixel or two. Its the same (or worse due to resolution) on my ds though. This leads me to believe that yoiur friend is either...
a) Extremely unlucky
b) A complete fucktard
c) non-existant

As for your imaginary friend, I'm not buying it. I've had 2 PSPs and neither had any significant issues. I'll have 2 more this week and I expect the same from them. Such is the story with everything I read too (aside from the 1 doa unit on this forum).
Then again, if you and your friend are of similar intellect you might not be lying. Of course then an etch-a-sketch wouldn't last 15 minutes.

So far, that appears to be the case. The U.S. region is clearly 1 and the Japanese region is clearly 2. Then again, they may not actually follow the DVD-region scheme due to the concentration of video games around three regions, but you've got a safe bet the European PSP will be the same region as the Japanese PSP.
