Suikoden III story recommendation (need help / Spoilers)

before proceding, this thread will obviously be full of spoilers.

ok there are 2 I things I want help with:

1- now, I have to choose the successor of the True Fire Rune. Story wise, which character do you recommend me to choose. my favourite character out of the three is Geddoe and so I chose him, but I don't know. after playing for a while with him, I felt that his story seemed a bit ammm ..... out of place. so I powered off the system without saving. does it feel the same with other 2 characters? I don't care about how difficult the game will be. I just want the best/most appropriate story/scenes.

I think it was originally meant for Hugo, since Geddoe already have the Lightining Rune, and appearently Chris will get the Water Rune from her father?

still, I think Geddoe is just too good to be left like this. I really want him to be the hero here



2- I strated the game using a Suikoden 2 data and I have a small problem here: I used the same file name for both the SII and SIII datas. I used the name "Alucard".

the question is: is the Flame Champion supposed to be the hero of Suikoden 2? I reached this point, and I'm still confused about this. so in my case: is he being called Alucard because I named the Suikoden 3 file "Alucard", or is it because it's the name of the Hero of Suikoden 2 in my Suikoden 2 file?

Store your save seperately so you dont have to play the game three seperate times. By this I mean keep a seperate save just before you choose the flame champion.

The first I reccomend is Chris, cause I just like her style of char and having her as a lead (shes my fave hero char in the series)

Then, since you have those seperate saves you can have three seperate files for each champion, which you will have three champions.

Hugo is the most logical and "official" choice. With Chris as your flame champion you will get one extra scene involving her father, but it's nothing special, overall. Geddoe seems so far out there for choosing to bear the True Fire rune, and I just couldn't stand that.

The name "Alucard" that the Flame Champion has is from the name you chose for Suikoden III, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. You will get a choice later on whether or not to use the Flame Champion's name or have the character retain their original name (it's subtle, I didn't even realize what I was doing until after I chose a certain text option)

To be honest, if you really like Geddoe, you should probably just pick Geddoe to be the Flame Champion. Hugo will be useless with the True Lightning (but he's not really made for much magic use anyways) Same thing applies to Chris and picking her to be the Flame Champion. But there are better mages out there, and magic isn't really a huge part of the game, anyways. (I mostly stuck to melee, throughout the entire game, reserving magic for the bosses) If you really have trouble with slow chanting, just have Jeane as support.

I think I'll choose Hugo. when I chose Geddoe, he went out showing off his Fire Rune all over the place and he had this arrogant attitude . not his style, I would stay. uh and it seemed they wanted to stick Queen with Geddoe as his lover. I've always thought she was a lesbo (she reminds me of King from KOF).
