I either love, or just really enjoy most of the characters. I do hate a few:

Choi
Chang
Malin

That's about it for hate. These three are just super gay. Everyone else is okay in my book. Hell, I love some of the ones most people hate: Ramon, Lucky, Heavy D, Seth, Shingo,K9999... they are some of my favorites, in fact. Meh, you can't please everyone.

More than anyone else, K9999.
Hey, sorry it's just my personal opinion, don't take it seriously, I might start liking Kula after playing some more KOF2k1. From what I've seen, she's pretty tough as the CPU.

"No, officer, it couldn't have been him. I saw him at Papa John's at the time of the shooting."

But seriously, how can someone hate Kula? Straven, you don't like video game women? What's that about? Sounds like something you should be seeing someone about. You really don't like Angel, Mature, and Vice? "(I have no taste in video game girls)". I'm not sure if that's really what you meant to say, but I got to agree with you.

I used to dislike some characters, as I've said in the older versions of this thread, but now I don't. I pretty much like, or at least accept, all of them. Choi and Bao? Yeah, small hitboxes are annoying to play against, but they're fine. They add variety, like everyone else.

My most hated character to play against would be Choi. Every Neowave video I've downloaded so far usually has both poeple using him, so that turns me off of that game even more now. Bao's never really given me a problem. I have yet to play against a person that can actually use Angel, so I can't really comment on her. I'd like to learn her though. Chin can also be a pain as well.

Join the holy war, my friend. We shall push the infidel dogs into the sea.

Haha, yeah, it's rare to see a good one, but when you do, it is a beautiful thing. I'm only a moderate KOF player in general (low-moderate, maybe), so my Angel is not the most effective thing you've ever seen, but when you get the basics, she is a blast to play.

Those two are the only ones that I really hate in KOF.
The rest are either great, or tolerable..but I just hate these two.

Kula w/human player >>>>>>>>>>> AI Kula

Once you start making progress with her, you'll see...

I guess you hate them for one of the two reasons: You have trouble fighting against said character, or you haven't mastered said characters moves effectively. In either case I think you just need to spend more time with them instead of writing them off as characters you hate. I don't 'hate' Shermie, just because I haven't learned how to use her effectively, and the same applies for Angel. I think it's lame to make fun of a characters appearance, and that being the sole reason you hate them. But everyone's entitled to their opinions.

Very well said. In fact, some of my favorite characters of all time are ones I used to "hate" (Shizumaru, Gato, New Face Team, Orochi version nf team, Rick Strowd, Jin bros., Akari, Ramon, the list goes on...Fuck, I've even started to like Hotaru). Play with them, you may learn to like them...

or...

At least you learn their ins and outs. Then, suddenly a lot of the things you used to hate about them aren't a problem anymore because you understand their weaknesses first hand, and how to exploit them.

When some character you don't like keeps nailing you with some move, try playing as that character. Use the move, and you'll see how others or the AI counter it.

None, they all have something good to offer, either gameplay-wise or design-wise.

I know what you mean. On both Choi and Angel. :smirk: I stayed home from work the other day, and I popped in 2002 (represent!) and decided that I just needed to finally sit down and screw around with Angel. So I printed off a movelist and started goofing around with her. She's really a great character. I'm still in my infintile stages of setting up and kind of decent combo, ( That HSDM has gotta be the hardest thing to set up, ever.) but Angel's really fun to play with. Plus you gotta dig that voice!

Yes and yes. So much variety with her, and even though she seems impossible to handle at first, there are so many things you can do fairly easilly with her that are cool...like after you do a short unchain circle combo ending with that punching them across the screen move (f, f+A), follow it with the hcb+K dash grab which catches them as they come down. Like I said, I'm no master player, so when I hit this, I feel like a champ.

To be honest, I haven't achieved her HSDM yet... :crying: love that "people's elbow" (at least I've seen it on the DVD)...someday I'll get it...

And I'm playing it Import on DC. :kekeke: We all have our crosses to bear. I've done it once so far. Practice makes perfect!
