I was just wondering what is the go with Ash's team? I'm not completely sure about the story line ( i've only beaten 2003 with the Fatal Fury team, not including any personalised teams) so i was wondering whats what. Is the Crimson team trying to summon someone/something and thats why they're in the tournament or are they/Ash gathering power for themselves/himself? Will Ash end up being the final "Boss" at the end of this story arc or MAYBE ,for the 1st time, we will have a boss "Team" at the end. Either that or he is just trying to call something big.

I know i'm jumping the gun a bit but alot more people know a lot more than me so i thought i'd ask. Can't hurt to!

From what I've seen (just the endings), Duolon seems like a good guy, on the trail of Ron to avenge his comrades, Shen seems neutral...not a bad guy, but not Mr. Justice like Kim or something.

And Ash seems like a bad guy. He's definitely manipulating his teammates, and he did something to Chizuru... unknown yet exactly what, though. Stole her powers? Stole her soul? Don't know if she's still alive or not. I like the idea of a "bad" main character. I mean, he doesn't seem like an anti-hero..more like downright evil, which is an interesting change from the norm. Plus, I never did like soccer-mom-looking Chizuru, so I was all for that. I hope he stole her minivan with all her groceries inside after that.

I never did find her to my liking much either. If Doulon turns out to be a "good" guy then that would be pretty sik. The only thing that concerns me is if they make Ash, or if he is, evil then they better not go half way with it. A guy who is evil should be cold and totally ruthless. You should know that if you get in his way he will take your life without thinking twice.

Thanx for the info Southtownkid! :)

Actually Ash manipulated the whole tournament in order to break the seal of Orochi within Chizuru's body. Shen an DuoLon are two friend of his. Ash plays the good, simple-minded guy but seems to be a damn bastard in the end.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Chizuru is the Mirror component of the 3 God weapons.

Kusanagi is the sword.

Yagami is the bead.

Huh? I thought Yagami was the wine cup. :conf:

There is no wine cup. The three divine weapons of both Japanese tradition and KOF story are the Kusanagi sword, the Magatama bead and the Yata mirror. The eight wine cups are just another part of the original Yamata no Orochi legend [Susanouo used those to get the monster drunk in order to slay him], IIRC those are just present in KOF as a part of a name/surname... maybe 'Yagami' itself... but just a name pun.

I'm pretty sure we're missing something here. If he was pure evil, they would have not named his team the "hero" team. Just like the New Face Team in 97 who were evil and could have passed like Ash were not announced differently.

Ash's team is very different. In my point of view Ash will eventually help the Yagami, Kusanagi, and whatever the fuck is chizuru's last name. I can't wait til this story gets concluded. ....

the difference is, the New Face team weren't the main characters of '97, they were just new. Kyo, Benimaru and Goro were still the "heroes". Also, the New Face team were presented as villains from the beginning. On the other hand, Ash being evil was a plot twist that was meant to be a surprise.

And does anyone have a litteral translation of the 3 kanji in the Japanese version of the title "Hero Team"? Do those kanji really mean "hero"? They are the same kanji used for K', Max, Lin, and Whip in '01, and K', Max, Vanessa and Ramon in 2000, but I'm just curious to the exact reading. For all I know, it might just mean, "Main Character team"...I have no idea and lost my kanji dictionary...

Shujinkou = (1) protagonist; main character; hero(ine) (of a story); (2) head of household

Personally, I prefer "Protagonist Team."

So it doesn't mean "hero" in the classical, heroic sense, but more as in a 'starring role' sense. That explains a lot.

What you call 'hero team' it's just a pretty lousy translation.

original is 'shujinkou team'. shoujinkou means 'starring' = main characters

moreover, that's Japan and not american.

you can have a real villain as an 'anti-hero hero', it's not a capital sin down there

thanks god :kekeke:
