Having vertical line problems on my 2-slot board (MV-2F, single pcb) - i bought it
this way and I dont know what the problem is.
Here is whats happenning:
I have 3 different cartridges that i am using so i know this
isnt the problem. When you first turn on the mahine the "NEO-GEO"
has vertical lines through it, also different games in the 2 slots
have vertical lines that follow the graphics on the screen, if a
character or object moves left and right, the lines over the
character also move left and right while image in the background
graphics stay still.
I have cleaned the game cartridge slots, the MVS PCB Slots, the jamma type
connector and pcb connectors (with alcohol and light abrasive) it plugs into,
and checked the pcb for any broken trace marks. I have also checked the power
supply voltages and measured the voltages at the board. I also have wiggled the
cartridges and tapped the board, no improvement., I have also checked all
grounds, at the board, monitor, etc., all look good -and- their dont seem to be any
visible (bad looking) board components.

I could use some help and suggestions on where to go from here.
Thanks !! :blow_top:

I have attached a few pics..

There's a problem with the connection between one or more of the C roms in the cartridge and the MVS system. Most likely centered around the connector on either item.

Sorry, I'm not sure how much you're into this.
But I've often gotten an image like that.
For me, it's just been a matter of cleaning the connectors of the cart with a Q-Tip. Some times, I've had to insert the cart a few times before it works. Be sure to insert it as firmly as possible!

But judging from your post, you have already tried al of this. So I don't know how to fix your problem, but I can narrow it down to the fact that the MVS has a problem with reading the graphics data in the cart. If you've taken ít apart before, you should know where the graphics roms are. They are the ones marked C1, C2, C3, etc. Make sure the connections between them and the machine are totally clean.

Sorry, Razoola or someone else could probably help you a lot more with this.
