PSP delayed?
Web posted on 5/10/04 Analysts predict that Sony's handheld will be pushed back to November 2005. And that's just in America.
Industry pundits at Piper Jaffray & Co have released a report predicting that Sony's attempt at taking over the handheld gaming market is likely to be delayed by more than a year. And if America has to wait until November '05, then Europe'll probably be left hanging until early 2006.
Their predictions come from the fact that there are still rumours of some hardware problems plaguing the PSP - with battery management and overheating being the most important.
American Technology Research are slightly less gloomy, predicting a US launch in June '05. They base that on the fact that the games shown at the recent Tokyo Game Show were no more than 60% complete, and that the question mark over battery life is still hanging around like a bad smell. They didn't say that last part, we added it for emphasis.
But with Sony's planned Japanese release window coming up fast, you can reasonably expect they'll respond to these rumours fairly quickly.
I believe it too.
