his jumping HK has been the most abused non-special move i've seen. i hate it because it dominates alot in air-to-air combat. people jump back and forth using it, hoping that it saves them.

i hate it too, because i have no choice when i use clark to go after him hoping to grab and iori players jump kick preventing me to do anything.

That it does. He's one of the best against any grappling fighters. The bad side to his jumping HK is most anti-air DPs. They take priority over it and even if you hit the tip of his foot it counts as a hit. That leg also sticks out a long ways, easy target.

Yeah, Iori's j/s/D has awesome prio.

If a Iori player jumps at you, you could try to air-grab him with Clark's Death Lake Drive command throw (f, d or b+C/D). It's a bit difficult to get it right against the jD because you have to see it coming, it only works as long as the jD has not reached its full range.

Grappler-wise, Goro's hcf+A high grab or his high reversal also are useful, and of course various anti-airs like Abasuto mentioned. Clark's/Ralf's Vulcan Punch works too, but you're screwed if you miss with it.

counter with a jumping B or a crouching B.

if you use crouch B, Iori will need to use jumping C and that will hit crouching opponents, so becareful.

and of course, if you manage to hit him with a crouching B, you can follow that up with a combo.

just one more thing, if Iori times it correctly, he will be able to hit you with a jumping D while you're crouching. I can't do that personaly, but it occures with me randomly. still, in that case, Iori will need to kick a bit late, so there is no point from doing so instead of a jumping C.

jA sC fwd A qcf a/c (if guarded) or hcb x 3 C follow up if no guard.

do his bB, then jump up and do it again, thats a real pain to deal with I find.

Most '98 characters have decent to good air defense moves. Even low C's work well for air defense if timed right for a lot of characters (Yashiro has a better-than average low C for air defense).

If Iori is jumping in at you, you just need to make sure you time your air defense early, since some of those moves (the non-autoguard ones, especially) have priority frames only at the very end, or only at the very beginning and very end. Autoguard moves obviously stop Iori's jump D cold if he's jumping forwards towards you. Some high-priority normals can stuff some air defense moves (hienzan, shoryudan, etc.) if you do them on reaction, so you have to anticipate a little and do them early. Better yet, attack Iori first and keep the pressure on him so he's the one who has to worry about defense.

For pressure, its all about saisyu.. His shit is sick in action. I love his short hop jB so much, you connect that mofo, sC fwdA dm *dm takes MEAN amount* I also think that yash is one of my best sob's.. I love all his shit, air offense, anti air dp.. Being able to link his qcf x 2 A dm off a regular jabs. *This is essential for cA's*
