The MAS sticks are huge (off the top of my head, 4 times bigger than the old style Neo sticks...?). They are approx 42cm/24cm/12.5cm. I like the MAS sticks, though - used them for 4 1/2 years. It's the only stick that gave me the feeling that I was standing behind a cab. :p

I'm not a fan of the old style Neo stick. I liked the new-style joysticks when I owned a Neo CD, but that was many moons ago and I've since used hundreds of other sticks. I guess you outgrow it.

I purchased one of THESE (Hori Real Arcade Pro for PS2) and rewired it for the Neo. Love it. It's right in between the size of the MAS and old style Neo sticks.

Whare can I get one of those bad ass sticks?

As far as the MAS sticks go they are hella tough, But if you like Japenese style sticks you won't like the mas.

Well, I got mine from goldenshop hong kong... forget their exact URL. Google them and you'll find it. The sticks are expensive from them, though. I think they charge the going rate for the sticks, 80$ each, but they ship via Fedex and the sticks came out to be 125$ each after shipping. They were the only shop I could find them at - all the more popular shops were sold out. The cost was well worth it to me as I use them for arcade gaming on a supergun - 8 button layout gives you the flexibility to wire the joysticks 4 across the top for Neo gaming, and wire the bottom 3 for Capcom games. Most other sticks just have 6 buttons so the D button for the Neo would be placed as button 6 on the bottom row - not huge, but I wanted what I felt was "the best".

The sticks are gorgeous, though. The mirrored top looks sleek and presentable. They require a little maintanence with a post-game wipedown or else you have palm prints fogging up the finish.

When I'm not gaming on my cabs, massystems joysticks is all I use for
gaming on my home system. The best IMO.

Johnkiddier on these forums meakes a mean custom, all Sanwa parts Neo stick.

Easy to wire up one of these. It's about the craftsmanship of the housing I like. this stick is SOLID. Who needs a cab when you have a chunk of one in your hands? :D

As long as the often-shoddy soldering does not inhibit functionality I recommend them very highly, they are truly awesome and lovingly have not got a Pac-Man era ball on top of the stick. It's a bit like having a weight or a table or so on your lap, playing with one of them. Anyway I think it's the best Neo Geo joystick ever made.

For a size comparison amongst the various Neo joysticks:

shir0 had three and they all stopped working within several months of being purchased.

Unless you can solder and repair them as they'll inevitably break I'd recommend against it for that very reason.

MAS needs to institute some quality control...rather badly imo.

edit: Anyone with positive feedback about massystems probably has a stick made by them before 2002 as really...the quality took a serious nosedive.

I have had a MAS stick for a while and I'm loving it. I can use it basically with every console/system I own (PS2, Xbox, Supergun, PC) since I modded it a bit. I say they are worth it :buttrock:

He's right, I think MAS Sticks are pieces of shit.

I had four though - the old one is still working.

If you really want a MAS stick, you should consider getting an old one, because
the new ones really aren't quality like they used to be.

One thing I really don't like about the button set-up is how the A button is lowered. Whose hand is shaped like that? I've never seen a joystick with a good ergonomic design. It's always backwards.
