All I can say is... that ain't gonna do shit. I read the opening paragraph, and whereas it may seem like a decent idea, it's EA we are talking about. As long as stupid gaming sheep continue to purchase the next version of Madden (or NFL/AFL) that runs on the same tired bullshit fest engiine with an updated roster, they'll continue to do what they always do. Shit out sub par game after sub par game.

The only way to get through to EA is through their wallets. That would mean that even if they release a game you want, don't buy it. And then you'd have to convince everyone else to do the same. With how many smaller companies EA owns, I find this would be an impossible effort. They've purchased so many companies that there is no way people won't buy their games.

I'm not going to bother signing up. No matter what 5000 angry gamers do or say, the 1,000,000 sheep gamers that buy crap games will continue to flush their money down EA's poop chute.

Not buying an EA game is easy for me, since I don't buy/play games much anymore.

that is retarded, why does it matter what EA games does?

I happen to think they do make some great games ( mvp, madden nfsu 2, medal of honor series)

stop with the bitching, UBI soft sucks anyway.

I don't really think it's worth the time to sign up. Everyone knows that EA sucks anyways. There are 2 sports games that have came out that no company today can even compete with. And they are:

1. Blades of Steel

2. Tecmo Super Bowl

All the great playability of a sports game, none of the stupid bullshit that gets crapped out year after year.

I'll support the site, as well as refuse to buy anything bearing the EA logo.

It's a shame, because I will miss playing NBA Street V3, and Burnout 3 was dope.
Their actions are horrible though, that monopolistic bullshit they pulled with the NFL was the last straw for me. I loved ESPN 2K5, and it was clearly the better football game this year. Now EA has NO incentive to improve Madden at all.

UBI Soft has made a lot of good stuff the last couple years, like Rayman 2, Rainbow Six 3, and Beyond Good and Evil. I hope they manage to shrug off this hostile effort.

Agreed.

EA has rolled over company after company, and has ruined its fair share of games series by doing so. If they keep this shit up, one day we'll be playing Zelda '08 online hearing shit like, "OMFG!!! Link got 3 new outfits this year! BUTTROCK  ". This effort probably won't amount to much, but it won't be my fault.

tsk tsk.

Last time I checked, that was companies do. Buy each other. I think they even have a name for it. "Capitalism" or something.

Get over it.

EA sucks, but I don't think that the petition will work. I mean, they're not gonna listen to us, what good is that going to do? There will be nothing that we can do about it. We just have to deal with it, and hope that they won't cause any more damage.

It's going to be tough for me to avoid buying Battlefield 2, but I'll stay strong and uphold my boycott. Buying out other companies is one thing, and not really the biggest problem I have with EA.. there are other reasons that we as true gamers need to be voicing our displeasure with our wallets.

You again, can you please just go away? Everyone of your posts are annoying and have no bearing on reality.

Now that EA owns 20% of Ubi Soft, when we buy one of Ubi's games EA makes money...

I belive the only chance of surpressing this is for a monopoly to be declared and a breakup ordered. Then again look at Bell Phone Company, they were divided into separate entities and now everyone of them are in joint venture with one another.

Nowadays everyone dislikes EA ! I don't buy myself any of their mainstream shit for sure.

It's funny how we complain about them !

They used to be good on the good old Amiga, Mega Drive days. :)
Blame the Playstation.

It actually is pretty sad.

I loved Madden originally on the Genesis, and way before that I loved EA with games like Larry Bird VS. Doctor J, Skyfox, Pinball Construction Set, and their port of Marble Madness all on the Commodore 64. EA wasn't always a steaming pile of yearly recycled crap for the masses. I can't stand them releasing the same game year after year for $50, can't stand their garbage-ass modern FM rap/metal/emo crap licensed tuneage they put in every game of theirs, hate their ads, they pretty much represent everything I can't stand about the post-PlayStation video game console era.

That's just the way it is.

Yep, I was a big fan of their stuff on the Genesis, and later the 3DO. The Road Rash games, the F-16 and Apache simulators, NHL '93, Escape from Monster Manor etc were all awesome.

I used to make a point of supporting EA.

I think the last EA games I really enjoyed were Archon and SkyFox on the Apple IIE. :buttrock:

There may have been some later, but they don't stick in my mind like those two.

You are seriously one of the biggest faggots on this board.

Ea happens to make some great games, I dont see why people would boycott them, missing out on great titles.

So they have official rights to the Nfl, there game is great, and I dont see how they can make it worse ( no motivation though).

Ubi soft is, imo, a pretty lackluster company, with only Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia going for them.

So, I am not going to boycott a bunch of good games for some stupid reason.

I am also sick of hearing all these anti sports games comments, if you dont like sports games, It doesnt meen they suck.

my posts have no bearing to reality? shut the fuck up. :annoyed:

It is easy for me to boycott Walmart.

But it is not easy to boycot EA. I frankly like too much of what they have done, sans the sports crap.

Battlefield 1942 and mods stand as one of my all time favorite games.
MOHAA is just plainly excellent.

Did EA publish Bard's Tale I, II, and III? I played those as well, but I cannot recall.

Shit I didn't even realize that EA made anything other than sports games anyhow. I thought they mostly were a "Publishing" company of games made by other development companies??? *Thus I don't see the point in such a boycott, since the only games I've bought in recent history barring the EA Logos is the Medal of Honor series and Freedom Fighters... if I did jump on this angry mob of gamers it'll have to be after I buy up Freedom Fighters II, cause I'm not done killing the commuinst heathens in the Cold War battle that never happened that should have happened.

I'm with Slerch on this one for the most part though. I don't see anything changing so why bother? Yes for once even MERC is going to make such a comment. I can't even remember the amount of upstart E-Revolutions/Petitons {staring with the whole "Bring Policenaughts to PSX" back in '97} I have been amongst along with trying to get ppl interested in starting up a serious Professional Hobbyists Gamer's Development Group/Company to make and release our own fuckin' games via PC or even for dead systems... and you know what, it takes more than hot breathing and having even 600,000 ppl onboard, it takes a solidarity the masses just don't have nor care about. Like I said, if this Revolt/Boycott is still going on after EA releases Freedom Fighters II then I'll join up, but seeing as how most cried about SSVS, then went right out and supported SNKPlaywhore for the lackluster KOF: M.I. I seriously doubt this will do jack fuckin' shit.
