I second that!!! I normally am not to keen on golf games, but Turfmasters is the best!!! Its a bit like the archery bit in the old track and field game...with judging the wind and that....blah blah...you know what I mean

From a technical standpoint, there have been quite a few golf games that pwn NTM hands down. However, I've never had so much fun with a golf game as I do with t3h turfmasters. A true classic - I wish I could own it on AES.

For me, Neo Turf Masters = best ARCADE golf ever.
Minna No Golf on PSOne (by Camelot) = best golf SIMULATION ever.
BTW, I wish all arcade sports games were like Neo Turf Masters: great
graphics, great music, easy to play but quite hard to master.
It's a shame that no sequel was released... I mean, even a simple
update with new courses would've been perfect. *sigh*

Honestly I never saw the appeal in Neo Turf Masters, heck it came with my 2-slot cab and I sold it promptly too. My fave has always been "Everybody's Golf" on the Playstation.

NTM/BTG sure is a very cool game, but it was made for the arcades so I think it cannot be compared to sim-like games like the Tiger Woods series. Technically, many other console golf games are much deeper than NTM, but most of them lack its easy-to-get-into charm and the laid-back atmosphere, it's just so relaxing to sit there on a peaceful sunday morning with a nice cup of coffee and play a course or two.
The only series that comes to my mind which has similar accessibility is Everybody's Golf on PSX. A bit kiddy, but good enough for a quick golf fix.

Neo Turf Masters/Big Tournament Golf is my favorite golf game ever as well.
There is something innately and distinctly unique/endearing about this game.
I've played the Minna No Golf and Tiger Woods Series, but I might have to check out "Golf Shio Yo".
NTM BTG is absolutely great.
