Need help with an Anime Title/s 70's and 80's

I just watched "Shin Getter Robo" and my goodness did that title rock. I remember seeing one of the "Getters" Getter Robo G to be precise, as a familiar face in one of the old Jim Terry productions but I can't seem to remember the title. Also, after watching this Japanimation I started to back track(in my head) all the shows I watched when I was younger but since they were an on and off thing for me, I can't remember most of them. I plan to get real retro with anime by going back to the 70's and mid 80's Japanese robot animation. I do remember names like Tranzor Z and Orion Quest but I can't nail them down to a specific title.

For all you anime fans out there, maybe you could mention "giant robot" names and titles and they might just bring back my lost mems.

By the way, I still remember Gundam and Robotech very well and since I'm almost done with my Neo collection and the sad fact that I 'm only looking forward to 2 titles this year. I found somthing new that might be worth my time.

She was a very special friend( I'd like to put it that way) and I know she had a tuff time here but no I was the Divine_Hawk. We broke up after she left with someone else but it was my fault and that was all in the past. I still see her from time to time.

If you have a way to speak to Ryan Smith of JGN he could tell you that I'm not her.

Danguard Ace (not a Nagai property, Matsumoto Leiji I believe)
Magnerobo Ga-Keen (not a Nagai property) also may come around as Megnetic Robo Gakeen

Getter Robo GO was done in the early 90s. We've also had Shin/New Getter Robo: Armageddon, a rather crappy OVA done in the 90s. Shin/New Getter Robo was a fairly recent show, picked up in the US by Geneon for R1 DVD.

Tranzor Z was the American bastardization of Mazinger Z which also used some Great Mazinger animation in it as well. I belive the series concluded with eps 60 something, which wasn't actually a conclusion. I believe the show just died due to piss poor ratings.

Everything above not attributed to someone else is a Nagai Go property.

edit- here is a page that lists all the Anime that was released in the US for the Force Five block. I'm guessing if you saw any of the above in English, it came from this block. Looks like they were released in the US as: Danguard Ace, Grandizer, Gaiking, Spaceketeers and Starvengers. I never saw Force Five while growing up, and seeing what they called some properties I enjoy now, I am thankful for NOT seeing them. I will admit that Tranzor Z got me into SR Anime, but seeing it the way it's meant to be seen is a 100% better experience.

Not quiet an anime, but u can use it for reference, if u still remember how it look like.
