I'm in a band. We're perform local clubs around the St. Louis area. We don't play any hardcore or emo stuff, we're working on creating our own sound. The link below has two mp3s on it, one of which is one recording during a live show and shows some three way improv drums and an all bass and drum song, and the other mp3 was done in a studio. Anywho, I wanted to open this forum up for discussion with anyone else who is in a band.(that actually performs in their local area)

is our little page.

Ignore the William Shatner stuff on there too, it's only up there because of a current inside joke. The name of the band is actually Fireball Routine

Tell me watcha'll think.

Its not emo, but its not exactly ground-breaking either. Kind of a garage-band meets jam-band thing going with the constantly shifting tempos, but it just sounds like more of the same stuff from bands like Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, etc etc etc who are basically producing more of the same stuff that Joy Division was doing 20+ years ago.

Best of luck to you though, musicians have my respect regardless of their genre.

Always nice to see another Missourian on the boards, to bad i'm on the other sidee of the state. If you guys ever tour theres a decent little place in my home town called The Setlist that you might want to look into playing at.

hmm

to buro destruct:
yeah, i never said it was groundbreaking, but we've been compared to both franz and modest, whom of which, are completely DIFFERENT than one another., Modest Mouse is like mellow sit around and sing and make really random shit and try to make it sound artsy, while Franz Ferdinand is the "set structure-copy off rock made 20 years ago". If you download the two mp3s on the link I gave you, they are QUITE different from one another. If you're in the st. louis area, then you'd realize we're complete aliens to the local scene, our local scene around here in nothing but hardcore and emo. You're not popular if you're not either of those, so, we've worked extremely hard to get the exposure we've been getting. And oh yeah, we're only a three piece.

To Lagduf:
You know, we're probably goign to play in Kansas City or around that area in spring break. For spring break we're planning to travel to a city, stay a few nights, and play a few shows, just for fun you know. So, if we do decide on KC, maybe I could PM you and you could get some numbers of a few clubs and whatnot?

Sounds pretty good to me. If you ever wanna play in Atlanta let me know. There's several gigs here my band can play pretty much at will. They always let us pick whoever we want to open.

KC would be a good place to play, its a bit to far from where i'm at (about 40/50 miles away) to really know of any clubs. I've only been to the major venues in KC when big name bands come through.

Columbia might be a good place to play seeing as they are home to MU, i know there is a decent local music scene there and they have some clubs.

well...

just to give you kind of a hint about the places we play at, we've played the Creepy Crawl 7 times since June 2004...and these other bands have also played there:
IMA Robot
Junior Senior
Mudvayne
Kill Hannah
Dry Kill Logic
Finch

So yeah. Anyway, about Columbia, we're in talks about playing a place up there because a booking agent for one of theclubs(i forgot the name) was at our show December 28th at the Hi Pointe
