Its been quite a while since I downloaded music. I just downloaded limewire, and I can't belive all the fake / shitty mp3s.

WTF is there a trick to tell if its bullshit?

What is everyone else using? I used to use soulseek, is that any good anymore?

I have been using Shareaza for about 2-3 months now, and I've yet to download a corrupted or fake mp3.

Soulseek is all you need. Why did you switch to Limewire of all things? It's complete shit.

What kind of music do you listen to?

EDIT: And if you want the best, donate $5 to Soulseek. As a privelaged user you get more hits on stuff and bumbed up to the top of the queue in most cases. Well worth it if you horde music or listen to a lot of obscure stuff. It just saves time of searching and waiting really.

BitTorrent.

Suprisingly, I've had no problems with LimeWire yet for the occasional MP3.

Actaully, yeah, it would be. I would think things like Limewire would be fine for that, but I guess they're just riddled with corrupt files.

Wouldn't know, Soulseek is all I use and I don't listen to mainstream stuff. Although, I will say this. I was trying to download some older, more well known stuff like Michael Jackson and such a while back and it was hard as hell to get anything. Either it'd be a non MP3 file or it'd never come through. So I guess the newer, popular stuff is in the same boat as that.

Seems to be up for me.

Did you download the latest build? If so, check this page just to make sure you aren't running some incompatible software along with it.
