the phantom 1 is a great piece of hardware as you don't have the hassle of supergun wirings. But, later on you may just want the MVS board. as long as you don't move the games in and out of the board, you'll keep the hi scores in place, which is great for people that want to keep improving their personal best score.

You can add a special bios to your MVS or home system, as well as a pause button to your MVS board, but that's of course more work on your part.

But if it all comes down to having something that looks clean and not too Otaku, I'd say go with the phantom.

Heh, doesn't owning a Neo already symbolize Otaku?

Let see...

The Phantom 1 allows you to play MVS games on the home cart system.

A super gun will allow you to play Jamma arcade PCB's. To play MVS games you'll need to have a MVS motherboard.

So if you're not planning on buying anything other then MVS and home cart games, and you already have a home cart system (AES/NGH) then I'd say the phantom one is the better route.
