What 2D16bit platforming games are as good or better than DKC2? Besides the obvious DKC and DKC3.

Please discuss

Thanks

Agreed!!

Try the Jap only Nangoku Syonen Papuwa Kun. Pure quality 2D platforming action.

I enjoyed the DKC series. I thought part 1 was done really well, and was pretty impressive technical achievement at the time, and part 2 was also pretty nice. However, there are quite a few platformers on the SNES that are clearly better IMO, such as:

Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts
Castlevania IV
Castlevania X
Super Mario World
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

I never played Tiny Toons, but I did spend some time with Road Runner's Death Valley Rally. It was a much better game than I expected, and turned out to be a quality platformer - good stuff.

tiny toons on both the snes and mega drive was alright, but the nes version just seemed so much better, more charas more fun.

dkc was really good series but I think they lost the plot with the collect all the shit banjuzo turkey shit and learning curve was a bit steep, the platforming elements were really cool tho, very nice music and great presentation

looks sequel to the Jackie Chan type game for the nes

adventure island also seemed better on the nes the rpg thing didn't work for me, and the platforming adventure island seemed a bit to easy with that super jump

I recently played Twin bee Super Taco bell Adventure and Rolling Thunder 3 they alright.

Seriously Donkey Kong Country 3 owns so hard. I found the entire series to be fantastic. I hope donkey kong jungle beat can rival the snes trilogy.

Damn straight :buttrock: , thanks for the info sounds interesting, although I wasn't that fond of the rare N64 games besides Conkers Bad Fur Day

Astro Boy Gba

so I finally got a hold of and meh, what a load of shite
SMB VS DK and Ninja 5 0 are much, much better games imo :multi_co:

What about the Mega Man X love? Probably the best Mega Man game ever.

Dr. Light:
So you've come... X, I gave you the ability to choose your own path in life, and I hoped the world would allow you to choose a peaceful one. But now it seems that you are destined to fight. Because I thought the world might need a new champion,
I have hidden capsules like this one.

Come on, epic! DKC 1 and 2 were also excellent games. I never really got into 3. The best part in DKC 2 was when you beat the level with Diddy Kong, and he would turn he had sideways and pull out the stereo and start rapping. Dixie Kong would pull out and electric guitar and wail on it. Dixie Kong could peel my banana any day. I mean, she has to be around 20 now, right?

Fuck yeah! MMX1 and MMX2 are some of the best platformers EVER. The music, the setting, the gameplay, true masterpieces these games. :buttrock:

I waited a really long time to get a hold of them and I wasn't really that impressed I expected more, although I still got a lot out of MM Zero 1 and 2 for the gba and MMX 5 for PS1, I just did.
