Right on. One of my favorite systems ever. Many great gaming memories, mainly being able to affordably play Garou at home and playing PSO like crazy. Mine is still in perfect working condition and looks like new. I'm always looking for great deals on DC games.

It's alright. Not my most favorite system, but well worth holding onto for Shenmue, NFL2k (who can forget the first time they saw that game in action?), and Soul Calibur.

The Dreamcast was probably my favorite system since the 16-bit era. I stood in line to buy mine on 9.9.99 with Soul Calibur and Sonic Adventure. It really blew me away graphically, though I already kind of knew what to expect, having played tons of Soul Calibur on my friend's import DC.

I did without broadband for awhile, so rather than use Earthlink, I went with SegaNet. I played Quake, Unreal, Outrigger, Daytona, Ferarri F355, Bomberman Online, Speed Devils Online, and most importantly.. PSO through SegaNet. PSO was the defining Dreamcast experience for me, and I still miss it, and all the friends I made there.

I remember the experience of Shenmue, and though most people didn't "get" it, I loved every minute of it. The "virtua" inspired fighting, the exploration, the mini-games and Sega nostalgia made Shenmue a must-have for my friends and I. I also uploaded my mini-game scores to the internet via the modem.

The memories.. :crying:

Sonic Adventure is one of the best games ive played ever.

As much as I like (and neglect) my release Dreamcast, it's probably the only game I played start to finnish.

I remember 9/9/99, i was stuck in school. Every assignment i turned in that day had the Dreamcast Swirl drawn on it beneath my mine. Lame i know but i was in 9th or 10th grade at the time.

It would take me until about April of 2000 before i got a Dreamast, but wow it was so worth it. Saved up a lot of cash to get that wonderful console.

The technology at the time was so amazing, for what it was Shenmue totally blew me away. I remember i got a friend to drive me to walmart (couldnt drive at the time) just so i could pick that game up.

Dreamcast will always have a special place in me heart.

I cant believe that it's been five years since the US debut. I had tons of fun with Garou, PSO, Bomberman Online, Mars Matrrix, Ikaruga, and my guilty pleasure, Zombie Revenge . SEGA's final console kicked the can early, but it had a well rounded library of choice titles.

The Dreamcast is my daddy.

Most of its 2D fighters are better on Saturn, but my Dreamcast still gets to stay in service as a MOTW machine.

I, like some of you other fools, stood in line at midnight 9-9-99 for that damn console. Soul Calibur's graphics, even being released a year earlier, shit all over anything being done on the PS2. It's a shame Sega abandoned it earlier than they should have.

It's also the first system I ever purchased a Japanese console of. I have 5 DCs. One is my launch, one is the Smash pack, one is a used US system for parts (still works), a Japanese DC and my Sakura Taisen DC.

The Sakura Taisen/Wars games are the best. Hanagumi Taisen Columns 2 owns all.

I remember that I got my DC back in '99 for 12th birthday. I remember playing Sonic Adventure for the first time, I nearly crapped myself, because of the graphics. I love both Sonic Adventure games. Another game I played the hell out of was House of The Dead 2. I used to play that game non-stop until I beat it. Me and my friends would trying to get the things (like infinte credits) in the original mode. Lastly, I spend countless nights on DC with Marvel VS Capcom 2, trying to get all the characters. Probably, DC is my 2nd fav Sega console next to Genesis.

Personally I don't much like the Sonic Adventure games, what with all the daft voice acting, cut scenes and pointess ambling. It should have never been anything beyond a simple action game.

Games that defined the Dreamcast for me were things like Power Stone 1 & 2, crazy taxi, daytona and virtua tennis.

Such a great console, I wept when it was canned. I still can't believe that the general public supported the shoddy ps2 when arcade perfection was staring them in the face.

I stupidly passed on buying MotW new for the AES back when it came out, so the Dreamcast version was all I could afford. I blinked and the AES version jumped to $500. MotW on Dreamcast with an Agetec stick=the next best thing.

For Sonic Adventure games, I use to turn the voices to Japanese and have English subs. But, Power Stone and Power Stone 2 were awesome games. I wish they could port Power Stone 1 and 2 onto the PS2. Another one of my favs.

The Dreamcast is all about Powerstone, Virtua Striker and 3rd Strike for me. What a sweet console, never got around getting one though. I guess the DC with an arcade controller is gaming heaven.

I love the Dreamcast still to this day.

In fact I had a Dreamcast fansite DreamcastCentral.com and with some online friends, we would write reviews, and had strategy guides, and videos availible for download.
I shut it down the day Sega said they were no longer supporting the Dreamcast.

Soul Calibur, NFL 2k, and Sonic Adventure were bliss on launch day. Also I remember being really impressed by the VMU, and still think its a cool idea.

Here are some pixs I took at my local mall for the 9.9.99 Launch... I was so excited. That Electronics Boutique pre-sold the most Dreamcasts in the country... 700+ so Sega was there and gave out goodies, and they had a dude in a Sonic Costume.

I was heavily addicted to Dreamcast for a while.
I bought a Japanese system in December of 98 and was buying at least 4 to 5 games a month for it for about a year.
I still play my Dreamcast alot. :buttrock:

No kidding. Sakura Taisen 3 is the most amazing game on the system, both in terms of graphics and sound.

My god, Notre Dame at night is still one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in a game to this day.

PAL Shenmue 2 kicked ass. Haven't really enjoyed a newer game as much since.

I didn't get one until Mark of the Wolves came out. On 9/9/99 I was dreaming about the PS2. The first game I played that made me want one was Soul Caliber and after the Mark of the Wolves review in EGM I picked one up. Then I got The King of Fighters '99 Evolution. Later I got Street Fighter III: Third Strike. Currently my Dreamcast sits in a blue bag with Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and Heroclix but its still loved.

I have a very long history with the DC. It stands in my top 3 systems of all time, and I was one of the lucky few to have one on opening day. I got the system, sonic adventure an extra controller and a VMU. I took it everywhere with me. Two months after it's purchase my roommate at the time left me hanging at our appartment and took all of my money with him. The DC, it's accessories, and most of my clothes had to be sold to pay off his debt.

A year later I reacquired my beloved DC, and at the time I barely had the means to eat, much less buy games, so I just played what I had. Shortly after that I got a good paying steady job and a best friend for a roommate. The DC games were flowing like wine.

About the time of the PS2's release I had a good friend that managed the electronics department of Walmart. He wore DC pins and pushed DC's over the PS2 for all he could. Eventhough I didn't work there I sold DC's like there was no end.

Obviously we lost the fight, but we gave Sega as much money as we could before it was over. Today I am still a big DC fan, and perfer buying DC stuff over most next gen stuff. In my eyes it is vastly superior to the PS2, and continues to live on in my eyes.

I remember paying the usual $400 + bucks to import the Japanese DC, Power Stone, VF 3: TB, and AirForce Delta... just so I'd be the first geek in the Lackland AFB area to have one. Everyone was at my house and we'd stay up all night playing that shit. Good times that. Especially the night my droog Genocide Neko beat BLUE STINGER in one sitting not really knowing WTF was going on since it was all in Japanese. While I had good times with it, I still prefer the SATURN over it though.
