I thought this was going to have something to do with Oni...

madmanjock said:Darn the Marathon series really brings back a few memories. I bloody hope one day the series will be reserected. Speaking of Marathon did you notice the logo appears several times in the Halo series? Also it's on Cpt Keeyes badge at the start of Halo 1. I often wondered if the Halo series and the marathon games where in the same universe at different timezones, but then thougth nah bungie are just offering easter eggs for their longterm fans

+1
Loopz said:Nah, I wouldn't go that far. He just doesn't know much about Bungie.
Baseley09 said:OK aside from the stuff posted here that everyone ever knows.
If anyone can find Super Marathon for Pippin, for purchase (as if lamo) or at least an ISO/Image, please make it known.
Then agian, you are prolly better off posting the location of the Holy Grail.

VanillaThunder + co - piss off, I was just stating things I've noticed that many who had never played halo wouldn't have. I HAVE read that the marathon and halo universes are interlinked but I've never seen much evidence off it hence why I said in different time zones. The weapons, soldiers, robots, space stations ALL look very different and I was just trying to make sense of if the Halo creators had broadly based Halo on the Marathon universe but as development time when on and on the resemblance between the two has reduced dramatically. I wouldn't be at all suprised if the link to the Marathon universe was bolted on at the end to keep old skool bungie fans happy as even in Halo's first build as a RTS the resemblance between it to Marathon was slim if present at all.

Gimme a few minutes to cut and paste a thread I put on another site about the links.
Honestly, I was thinking Pathways into Darkness, that other FPA they did. Never played it, but if it's anything like their other works, it can't be that bad.dark penguin said:![]()

Anyone know if it's actually any good?
VanillaThunder said:I can send it to you if you'd like, you just need a mac to play it. It's great fun if you can go for old skool gameplay and graphics..
Macs rule.genjiglove said:I thank you for the offer, but unfortunately I don't own a Mac. That may change now that the mini Mac is out.
