I just ordered one off the www.massystems.com They said tyey'll ship it out like 3 days later cause they are "busy"? Anyways I had to choose a button style either concave or convex. I chose concave which a button goes inward in the middle. Anyone tried both buttons before? which one did you like and why?

Most of the cabs in JPN have convex buttons, and most in the US have concave. Personally, I grew up on the concave buttons so I kind of prefer them, but honestly I don't think I'd be any better off with either type. Makes little difference to me.

However, some buttons do have require more force for their microswitch to be activated. Thus for shooters, these kind of buttons might wear your fingers/hands out after awhile.

If the MAS stick is anything like I remember it, I would have opted for the convex buttons. The whole stick was just abit too bulky for my taste and the concave buttons were not user friendly imo.

I loved the concave buttons. I loved how my fingers fell upon them and how I knew each one was being pressed down with a solid "click". I've since gone convex, and as far as playability goes they can not be beat. They are incredibly responsive. If you ever get joysticks with each style of button, buy a coin counter from an arcade supply shop (about 1-2$) and connect them to a button in each joystick. Tap the buttons as fast as possible and you'll see which one comes out on top... by far.

Both styles that MAS offers are HAPP buttons. The concave have stiffer springs taking more effort to mash. However, if your heavy handed or a brutal button masher then they would be the better choice. The convex have a little lighter spring and a little shorter push for quicker response and a lighter hand. Now the Japanese convex buttons take very little pressure and have almost to quick of response after they're worn in. They are for very light handed players. They have no separate spring like the HAPPs buttons. They are just the button and the microswitch. Theres almost no click feel to them. HAPPS offers a button utilizing this switch. Its called a momentary contact switch. HAPPs only offers the smaller start buttons like whats used on the NEO Candy Cabinets. What type of button you choose depends on how heavy handed you are and how brutal on the buttons you are. I'm light handed and like to exert very little hand motion so I like the Japanese buttons.
