Hahahah, contrary to popular belief, this game is awesome for competition.

Heh, I wouldn't call it unpopular belief. It's the only fighting game aside from Street Fighters that has major competition in my area. This thread should be in Unrelated, though.

Unrelated? Why? We get talk of Darkstalkers, and other non SNK games here too. Why should Smash Bros, be an exception?

Hm. You're right now that I look at it. The forum distinctions could be clearer.

Now that I have you in this thread tho, let's get some discussion going.

Who is your main character? Who do you hate fighting against the most? And do you have any videos yourself of some high lvl play?

Me - personally I was a Fox user, but for the time being, Luigi is turning into my main char. and I hate fighting Sheik the most.

What a pussy.

I'm best with Ice Climbers, though against those who know how to fight them well I'm better off with Mario. The most common opponent is Link, who's all around good, but boring when everyone else chooses him. The most difficult enemy for me is Marth because he's so hard to approach, but he's rarely chosen. Also, competitive games always have items off, which I don't like. It's too much a part of the game. (And Ice Climbers can carry two.)

I don't mind using items, but there are those who are huge nay sayers to items, and demand them turned off. Not me tho, I'll game either way.

Ice Climbers? Hahaha, that's an interesting choice. Never seen a good IC btw. Not trying to say that your IC must suck, just saying

Btw, How would you rate your skill compared to those vids?

Personally, I consider myself badass 1on1, however FFA, or team Ba, I really don't do nowhere near as good.

Marth is awesome, however I notice most people hardly use his counter move? Why is that? That move owns hardcore, and will beat any other physical move against him. Anticipate every time you just know your opponent will attack and counter his ass silly. His forward A smash is pretty damn good too, with some nice range.

Luigi's game while hanging from the edge is insanely good. I use it a lot and works like a charm. His wavedashing is prolly the best in the game, and his excellent air moves become even better when you L cancel them into a throw or A,A,A. Hahaha man, I just love Luigi.

Haven't played Melee in some time now..

I used to play with Fox all the time.

Then I moved to Dr. Mario and got to the point where only used him.
Sometimes Fox but mainly I play with Dr. Mario.

Should really start to play Melee again, such an excellent game and lots of fun.

I'd say I don't know anyone who can fight at that level for very long. More practice, though...

I love countering when I'm Marth, especially when I get between the other fighters with 3-4 players.
