My sister went to Hong Kong and I asked her to check out some Neo related stuffs and after two days she shot me an sms from her phone saying she found a Metal Slug 1 AES cart and a Japanese Rage of the Dragons home cart. She told me it would cost around $1,500 U.S dollars for the slug and $600 for the rage because both were brand new. From her mobile phone, I talked to the store owner and he told me that thet were "misplaced stocks hidden for years"(Sounds like a freaked out relic). My sis is now home and GUESS what? The inserts and cases looked different and the CARTS were MVS...MVS carts. I paid $2,100 dollars for two "very good conditon" MVS carts.

I don't know what to do and I can't really blame my sister because she does not know the difference between an MVS or an NGH cart.

We have the number of the store owner and when I talked to him he said he never sold anyone Neo-Geo items because they were "TOO OLD". I'm going to Hong Kong in a month from now to attened a vid card product launch. I don't know the laws there but at this point only "unhealthy" options enter my mind. The fact that he denies the sale makes matters worst. However, I'l still try to resolve this in a friendly manner.

Any advice? Right now I'm still trying to calm myself down with two MVS carts. Heck, I don't even know if these carts are legit.

Ouch, well I hope you can work something out with the store owner but it sounds unlikely that he is willing to talk to you.

Sounds like bullshit honestly. Any pics of these carts? You didn't bother to have your sister check for instruction booklets or any specifics?

I agree. If I wasn't there, I'd demand specifics. I'd ask her about the case, insert (maybe read something off of the back), ask about a booklet, and the actual cart itself (if it had a sticker on the top that overlapped to the front, etc). Then again, buying $2100 worth of Neo carts you haven't seen from a person you know nothing about doesn't seem like something any sane person would take part in anyway.

That was clearly my fault. No excuses for that one and it bugs me every minute. Thiniking about the whole situation from different angles show a great deal of NEGLECT on my part and I paid for it.

At days end the BS was on me but the lesson has been learned.

I think the HK Tourist Assn may help us resolve this but if nothing happens you're right I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL.

DAMN MY CARELESSNESS

You're right my fault here, I gave the guy an op to scam and he took it.

Thanks Lithy and SonGohan for giving me hard words for lessons I ought to learn and yes I did get slapped, kinda late but they found their mark.

Is there a chance she used a credit card to pay for the carts? You could always try reversing the charges. If you/she paid cash, well, it's a life lesson learned the hard way...

My question is which store did your sister purchase those games from?
Maybe I'll ask my HKese friends to give a helping hand.

No problem. I'm lucky to know whole bunch of HK people and they love movies and video games. Maybe they can come up something and solve this issue.

Just let me know.

You asked for it and you got it.

Yes I did. It's just like giving him my wallet. No excuses, my stupidity, my loss and again thanks for the comment.

I'l try the Tourist Assn first, if that does not work I hope you/Hk buddies don't mind giving out a helping hand and for that, my thanks in advance.
