I was just watching the once great, now horrible "The Screen Savers." They were covering the rumors going around CES, one was the PSP would debut for $150!

Now I know they're losing money if they sell it at $150...

If they solve the battery issue and retail it at around that price, I would definitely consider buying one. "Consider" being the key word.

Sony will not make any money on a PSP sold and will just start breaking even in March. Anyway it was said way back when it was announced that it will be a loss leader. They just want market share.

I'm sure the PSP will do good, but they won't touch Nintendo in terms of sales.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of things. First it was Sony would lose money if they sold below $300. Then they would be making money if they sold for $200. Now, this... I don't know I think it's all a lie.

I hope that GTA: PSP comes out a month or so after launch so I can sell my unit. If it does make launch I've got a hard decision to make...

Cost of parts went down. It probably cost $300 to make a PSP when they first started manufacturing, but as time went on and they produced more it became cheaper and cheaper. They probably got their biggest break when decided to manufacture the GPU themselves which also has led to shortages.
