Basically the MVS is a piece of hardware, on which you can run various pieces of software in the form of MVS cartridges, just like a NES for an instance.

PCB stands for printed circuit board, and usually refers to arcade games which include both the hardware and the software in the same pcb and, therefore, games are not changeable.

You can play both of them in JAMMA compatible cabinets or superguns, as long as the pcbs you are using follow the JAMMA standard (the MVS does)

PCB = Circuit board. All electronics have them.
PCB, when talking about arcade games, is the board you insert into a cabinet or a supergun to play them. Usually the PCB is a complete game, but the MVS system, for example, is a PCB.

Otherwise, what Ocean said. :)

To put simpler.

Jamma PCB = Everything on one board to run one game.

MVS = Motherboard + cartridge combo. You can switch carts on the motherboard to run different games.

MVS 1 slot motherboard is Jamma. Multislots are slightly different pinout.

1-slot isn't standard JAMMA either. MVS is 4 buttons, JAMMA is 3 buttons.
To my knowledge, the only thing added on multislot boards is the game select button?
And an MVS board is a PCB, so your definition doesn't really work.

On my 1 slot it says "JAMMA" clearly on the green.

Jamma supports 5 buttons, its just that cab designers only wired 3 as a standard.

Jamma supports the select button too, its just that the cab designers did not connect a button to it.

Then SNK used the same pinout and just used the vacant pins that were available. Implementing a 4th button, a select button, and making it stereo as opposed to mono. These are the only differences.

Yes, MVS is a PCB but its kind of confusing trying to explain it that way. MVS is a motherboard as well, so I chose to use that terminology so it would not confuse the guy.

Pictures would make things easier.

Correct. I'm tired of hearing the "Jamma is 3 buttons" bullshit.

I don't know where this "Jamma is 3 buttons" came out but it's widely spread all over the web.

There's plenty of room for five buttons in a JAMMA connector, and it's obviously intentional. But the official pinout is three buttons to my knowledge.
I'd like a link to a source proving otherwise.

I think the guy has his answer so you should open a topic on this concern.
