You crazy Floridians and your houses on the water.

Here is the deal:

My parents want another house because my mom is obsessed with
property. Apparently she is also obsessed with Florida as this is the
newest place for her to waste money on another house.

She's looking at some property in Bradenton, FL.

From what I've seen, it's a pretty cool place and it's right on the water,
but as far as the surroundings and things to do, I'm clueless.

Is this near any of the "gatherings?"

Is there a lot of stuff to do around Bradenton?

I just thought I'd ask, because my mom is bound and determined to
add another piece of property to her collection and chances are, I'll
end up being there for awhile when I'm not in school in Knoxville.

Well since Bradenton is about 30 minutes from Tampa you won't be dissappointed. You can come to Ybor City and choose your bar, club, and whore of choice or you can go over to St. Petersburg or Clearwater and choose your beach and whore of choice. Either way it's a win win situation. But what exactly do you like to do.

It's funny because she's doing this AFTER scientists are predicted a pick-up in the severity and number of hurricanes headed for FLA in the next decade at least.

Have fun with all those fucking headaches such as seasonal clean-up and stuff.

We sold our house in clear water in 2002 as nobody ever fucking went and as such holding said piece of property became kind of pointless. Needless to say after the last hurricane season we're glad we did.

I don't have any say, it's what she likes to do.

Hell, she already went out and bought two new jetskis to show my dad she
was serious.

Anyway, breal - Football games and parties are right up my alley, and I know
U of F is around there, so the football (during season) is covered. I like the
arcades, but it's really not my deal anymore but the beach sounds like a
fucking blast.

Are they nice there?

My dad lived in Burbank for awhile in Cali, and we used to go to the Malibu
beaches and I remember liking them a lot.

The bar scene isn't really my thing, but I like to go with friends from time to
time.

Anyway, thanks for the input.

There are no good beaches on the Tampa coast. The gulf has NO WAVES, the water is like warm piss, and if there is a storm, there is seaweed all over the place. Dont count on the beaches.

Ybor is a good place, lots of shit to do.

Tailgate parties and stuff as far as the eye can see on a gameday around the stadium.

Anyway, dont buy beach front and it will be fine.
