Is it Gameover for Gamecube?

No I don’t think it will be game over just yet, either way as long as you have a good collection of games for the system it doesn’t really matter. Sometimes it’s actually good for the consumer when a system starts to go downhill as the prices too seem to fall.

Whatever the case may be, this all translates to cheaper Nintendo games for the average schmuck like me....not that they were amazingly expensive to begin with, but anyway.
I've heard gamecube described as the "Metroid Prime TV Adaptor"....for me, that is true to a large extent. I mostly use it for MP/MP2, but I have a bunch of GC games sitting on my shelf which I should really get around to at some point.

End of story, I welcome cheaper retail prices for -any- Nintendo product.

The European market really doesn't matter.

As long as they're making money with the GCN, it's staying.. and.. it's still making a lot of money.

Agree. Plus it's all fucked up, anyhow. They're the first ones that had the DC die. The Dreamcast, fuckers. That shit was a great system.

It's a solid system, built like a rock.
I like the controller design, and there's many good games for it.

If I had to own ONLY one console, it'd still probably be the Bawks, for the SFAC and Halo 2 online action alone, not to mention the mighty mighty OutRun2. But that doesn't mean every hardcore gamer shouldn't own a Cube.

Currently loving Paper Mario and MGS: Twin Snakes.

This is why the system is dying over there.

Its true there has been no advertising really.......ever since the launch afaik, or have seen at least.

Being a videogame enthusiast i should know it games are coming out, but honestly all I know is Mario Party w/ a tampon looking microphone.

RE4
Killer 7
"New" Zelda
Odama
Fire Emblem
Star Fox Assault

That's more games I am expecting than for the PS2 or Xbox which could be resumed to Cold Fear, Wanda & the Collossus, FFXII and maybe a cuple more.

Sorry bub, but it's the truth.

Only Japan and the US matter since the bulk of sales are in those two markets.

Europe is sort of an afterthought for the game companies. They release the systems and games over there, but then they kind of just forget about it.

Kind of like when fucking that fat chick seemed like a good idea at the time, but when more thought is put into it, it really wasn't so good.

don't take offense to this, but the UK isn't neccesarilly the
trend setters in the market.
honestly though all the games they mention are older games
and i remember seeing wwe x8 for about 12 new at ebs months ago.
and the rest of them all are around 20 now anyways.
the system price though is pretty good though.

I hope not but they should consider on-line play for their next system. Btw, I got myself a gamecube since it launched and up to now I only have 2 games for it.

1. Rouge Leader
2. Soul Calibur 2

I may not have a Cube, but I think without Nintendo, the market would suffer. Over the last 20 years, name one comapny that has given as much to the industry as they have.

No matter what people say, the 2 best games ever were Ninty launch titles - Super Mario World & Mario 64.

Agreed. This game will sell tons of systems in both the US and Japan. I don't know wtf they're doing over there in the UK, but the Cube has done, and will do very well over the next year. Resident Evil 4 has already basically taken reviewers by storm, and will be huge when hits either tomorrow or the next day.

And then there's the new adult-themed ( :kekeke: ) Zelda title, which will undoubtedly be awesome. I really don't see the Cube going anywhere right away. I do enjoy some titles on the bawkz, but I really don't play my PS 2 all that much. As for GTA, I'll just wait until the bawkz version comes out, since the PS 2 apparently can't handle the graphics.

Bottom line -- Buy a fucking GC and go buy RE 4, you will not be disappointed.

How sad a day it is when a bad ass system with good games like the cube has to take a second seat to others.
XBOX is the most mainstream thing on the planet, the Halo series is good and all, but one thing I notice about XBOX is how uncreative so many games are.

I mean shit, the only games I pop into my box is orta/otogi or ports of fighters. This is the only system I have that collects dust. Its also a bitch to clean the dust out of those shitty lines on the left and right side of the top of it.

I despise this generation of gamers also. This generation has attracted some of the most annoying crowds. The people who bash other shit without owning or giving it a chance, the jock crowds who only play shit and defend this paper weight.

I got more use out of tales of symphonia then any title this entire last year. NGC has a drove of decent games that nobody will give a chance cause of some bullshit past where kids got attn with the nintendo name. Whatever. I'm gonna just keep buying some good ngc games until they release something I can really enjoy on my box. Hell, Super Monkey Ball 3 is in the works I hear, and I've waited for a sequal thats worthy of the first. Since SMB2 is a easy load of nutsack.

With both PlayStation 2 and Xbox having had a hugely successful Christmas, thanks to the recent releases of AAA titles like GTA San Andreas and Halo 2, Nintendo half-heartedly countered with a Cube bundle that featured the year-old Mario Kart: for the week-ending 11 December, just over 7000 Gamecubes were sold in the UK, compared to 37,500 for Xbox and 60,500 for PS2.

LOL, them Brits aren't any different than us Yanks... they crave teh violenz and teh uber mainstream roXXor iPod Halo2 OMG!111

And is Halo 2 REELY that good of a game to put such an effect on the world? I've been told its way shorter than Halo 1, and not much of a step above graphically, to Halo 1 either.

I can understand San Andreas... I personally don't like the game, but I can see how 3 million convict wannabees would :kekeke:

And if you ask me, its Nintendo that has continuously beaten new paths with new and interesting software. Yea we see the same old franchises over and over, but I really think they have remained closest to the original roots of novel gaming. I played 4 swords last week with a friend and some gameboys... switching between TV and the GBA's ... man that was fun. And Played warioware too... the most phucked up funny ass novel game i've played in years. I'm telling ya, N must have been smoking some really good shit to make that game mannnn...

Not me,blood and violence in games doesnt give me a boner. And I may be accused of being a bit of a sell out and not supporting the sales in the UK with having an import cube but I don't care!

I want my games when they are released and not 4 months l8r.

And IMHO,the Halo games are just shite and iPods are for fags, and we should stick all the tossbags who get off on the content in the GTA games on a small island, give them loads of old cars and guns and let them wipe themsleves out.

Meh,I'm going back to play Mario Pinball for a bit!

Its a shame the cube hasn't done well over here. When I was in the US over New Year I noticed it had a much larger presence in the game stores I visited than it does in the UK, where it tends to be hidden in a back corner somewhere. Europe has always seemed to be an afterthought for nintendo anyway, so they shouldn't expect anything else really. It's a shame.

didn't see Shenmue 2 being released for DC in the US... or Rez. Or Headhunter. at least Sega supported it to the end. Perhaps if they hadn't blown their entire marketing budget sponsoring a bunch of lame-ass football teams and pushing the unfeasable online play it would have been different.
