Hi there every1 im new to this forum. Have had my Neo for about a year and can any1 tell me how come the games just seem to be so hard to play as in the difficulty?? I like to think that I can pretty much hold my own on the capcom fighters but the SNK fighters are a whole new ball game, dont get me wrong I love em and there very different in the way to the street fighter games play, but thats a good thing. The only problem I have is that they seem to go from near impossible to completely impossible!!! For example I can happley be playing Art of Fighting 1 and beat all the enemies but get to Mr Big and the game goes to im not going to let the human player win mode!!! can any1 tell me:

1- how do u beat Mr Big and

2-just how come the games are just so damm hard? I know you have to put the hours in but sometimes but it does just fell like there is no way you can win no matter how good you are and im my opinion thats just not fun. So any feedback would be appreciated.

Not to give an overly simple answer, but many of the bosses are pattern based.

Learn and exploit. Lots of jump kicks, triangle jumps and overall being aggressive helped me beat AOF.

DO NOT try and use lots of special moves like a Capcom game. In AOF, specials are almost more like supers; they come out slow, but they do big damage.

hey thanks, I did actually notice that. Is that a trend with the SNK fighters as in there are patterns that the characters follow and you as a player simply have to learn how they fight etc in orger to beat them. Thats very different from the capcom beat-em-ups which I am used to, its good but in a different way.

Capcom AI=a joke (cept SSF2T)
SNK AI=unfair to the point of altering move priorities (esp. in earlier games)

I've never played AOF1, but I own AOF2 and hate it with a passion.

the easiest way to win is using the ryuko rambu at some point of the fight, it takes half of the enemy health bar.

d,df,f,b,A+C

You must have less than 25% of health and more than 75% in the spirit bar to use it.

AOF1 was hard, but I could manage myself.
AOF 2 is a pain, just a pain.

Man, that's not the Ryuko Rambu...

In AOF1 it is: qcf+C, A You press C first, then slightly after, you push A (and you don't move the joystick back at any point). If you press A and C at the same time, it won't come out. Also, be careful, because it leaves you open before the move comes out. The computer can easilly clobber you in that little pause.

Yeah, you're right. I sold my AOF1 like 2 years ago so I couldnt remember
very well how to do the ryuko rambu, I also checked the neo encyclopedia and Galen Komatsu move faq but both fail to explain how to execute the move as well.

Its best done when the opponent is getting up after a throw since it's unblockable.

Ive still only won 1 fight in AOF2 :tickled:

I though i was the only one! :tickled: I am glad others find this well hard! It makes me really frustrated! I find rage of dragons is really bad I hadnt played on aof2 in ages, went on to play as Yuri and I wanted to break something!! I can get to the end boss in rotd but aof2 1 fight is my limit! What makes it worse is the fact that Yuri is my fave fighter ever and I cant use her in her first game where she is playable because its so god damn hard! :annoyed:

Well, I've defeated Geese in Art of Fighting 2 with most characters on my own with plenty of persistence. Patterns, patterns, patterns... it's nothing like a 2P fight. Let alone a real fight... heh.

It's funny, but Geese is probably the easiest character to beat in AoF2.

I wish I has that game :crying:

CAPCOM OR SNK WAYS OF FIGHTING?

I don’t really get it personally, what is it with all of this follow the pattern thing in order to win that SNK has in fighters such as AOF. Personally I prefer the whole Capcom way of fighting. It may be more along the lines of button bashing but there is also a skill to winning on the harder game settings. To me the SNK pattern to winning can sometimes seem pointless because in the 1p game you have to follow a pattern in order to win which is more like a strategy game than a fighter, and then when switching into a 2p game with a friend it goes into capcom mode where for me it’s a whole load more fun.

What way do you all prefer, the pattern system or button bashing?

Pattern fighting mainly applies to AOF2 and bosses in KOF. Pretty much everyone else you can fight however you want.

You think Capcom doesn't have patterns? There are patterns for every character in SF2. There are pretty much patterns to be found in any fighting game, including Capcom's. You just don't know them. People used patterns on Pyron. People used patterns against Gill from the beginning of SF3. Some Capcom fighters, when you put them on higher setting, actually limit the tactics the computer uses, making it more pattern-friendly.

I don't like fighting with patterns, so I don't. I don't use patterns on any of the games I like to play: any of the Fatal Fury games (well, sometimes FF3), Real Bouts, SS3, LB, KOF '02 (except Rugal), etc.... Calling not playing with patterns "Capcom mode" is a fucking joke.
