Do you think the PSP will make the March launch date?

Heres hoping that the entire front isn't glossy, and just the screen is.

I think Sony will do there usual and release it at the end of March, but with low supply and then have a second shipment in May. They will blame another third party for not providing parts or something. Why can't Sony just get it right???

I predict a month late if they don't fix anything, Fall of 2005 if they do fix stuff.

I think at this point, if Sony doesn't revise their PSP by making the screen scratch resistant, keep the analog nub from snapping off, and whatever else, it will fail in the American market.

Amen to that...

I'm guessing May or Sept...

My reluctant guess is after E3 at least. It'll be hyped as the best thing since cd media.

well the most important is that they cleanup their factory processing and improve QA.

For instance my LCD has a pixel which has bad lightning. it s only visible on dark images and not annoying for my games (bright games) except metal gear acid (pretty dark). It s my only complaint.

If they decide to rectify the problems like change the screens etc then I think it will be delayed a couple month for US and UK release since both are set dates around the same time.

It'll come out in March. They aren't stupid enough not to open up another gpu fabrication plant and if they don't then they obviously don't need one. I just don't think it will make it anywhere else in March.

It doesn't seem that scratch prone (knocks on wood) to me, at least not any more than any of my Gameboys.

It always looks dirty and it is a dust MAGNET. I tried playing before falling asleep last night and shit was flying from all around the room to stick to my screen!

I will laugh at you when it does come out in March... :buttrock: :kekeke:

I think the other guy was right. It will be released in March, but with problems and with a very limited supply. Hey, it worked for the PS 2, so why not stick with that routine?

No shit. When ever it does come out, best just to wait until the have a revised batch. And hopefully Sony will have all thier "kinks" worked out.

Yes, I'd say March, especially in Europe, where the DS is scheduled for about the same time. The important thing is to spoil Nintendo's launch, even if you can only make twenty-seven finished units in time.

Oh I don't think sony's going to be the one spoiling the others launch. :kekeke: After all by that time the ds will have been out for 3 yrs. The psp with a respectable 2yrs since launch. Really the only thing I'm looking forward to in March is the BIG Nintendo announcement.

Oh yeah, and reselling my psp for $$$ then spending that on more neo stuff, or possibly a cab

Sony should give away a free can of Endust with every PSP purchase. Its the least they can do. Good to hear though that you say it doesn't seem to be THAT scratch prone.

Don't get me wrong, I really like it... but it's fun to joke.

I think the dust is probably a feature. Realistically speaking it prevents you from ever noticing a bad pixel or some dust under the screen. It only stays clean for like a few seconds. Not really different from a Gameboy but the glossy black surface shows everything.

I am using my glasses cleaning spray on it (antistatic) and the dust do not stick on the screen (it does on the rest of the front cover since i didn t want spray to enter the buttons cavities) :)

I just had a thought. The high voltage inverter supply inside the PSP that lights up that big 4" screen is most certainly a static magnet. Bigger screen means a bigger light, which requires a higher voltage/higher current output inverter.

My GBA SP attracts its share of dust too... no wonder a 4" screen does it even worse.

I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.

So we need to coat the whole thing in aluminum foil? I'm down with that.
